Really disappointed
Long time user of Uber but recent changes have killed my interest in continuing its use.
I accidentally requested a ride share and immediately pushed x to cancel. It would not cancel - software glitch and I tried at least 20 times. After two minutes of the app timing out I received a notice my driver was on the way. It then canceled and Uber charged me a $5 fee - even though it had been less then a few minutes and their app problem.
Further, the ride share is a pain. Once you call for a driver you are stuck. Even if its been ten minutes and the driver is going the complete opposite direction. You have to wait for their convenience or pay for a faster driver.
And lastly, I have had several drivers fail to pick me up after waiting for upwards of ten minutes. They seemingly decide against the ride - I simply receive a notice saying the driver has canceled the trip.
Why do I as the user pay a fee for canceling but are not reimbursed for my time when a driver does the same?
