Uber backs up a driver that has no idea about service

I called an Uber ride from the airport, with8 minute ETA. In 7 minutes he called to verify location. I told him the gate and he asked me to walk down two gates so he could get to me easier. Next I see him on the app back where I started. He called and asked me to walk back up two gates to make it "easier@ for him. I cancelled the ride and got tagged for a $7 cancellation fee. I protested through Uber customer service,who issued a credit but totally backed the driver up.
