Bad customer service
Über used to be my number one ride requesting app. In the last few months 3 incidences made me change my mind. And ultimately delete the app altogether.
I requested a driver, and for some reason he was driving AWAY from me, I called him multiple times but the phone was off. Wasted 20 min. So I canceled and got charged a cancellation fee, although the problem was from their side.
2- The next time my driver took a bad route, and was rude: he did not follow the Google instructions or mine, as he is an "expert" and "I know these streets" and I spent my morning in long u-turns trying to get to work.
3-The final blow: I requested a ride for next morning, I saw the regular price and accepted, the next day AFTER I got in the car, I received a text informing me that surge pricing is in effect, and Ill be paying x3. Therefore I was forced either to end the ride or pay. I contacted customer service, and every time they explain what surge pricing is, and that I am the one who accepted it!!! How can I accept it if it was not shown to me? They use words like "transparent pricing", "dynamic pricing" and I all see is: your money is gone, deal with it!
