Provide location always?

Uber has turned into another evil company who sells personal data of users for money.
They have made obligatory to share your location even when you are NOT using app. Option to provide location only when using app is disabled.
I dont understand why a private company like Uber should know where do I spend my personal time when I am not using Uber.
