Plain awful customer support
Uber allowed you to switch payment methods after a ride if you used the wrong one. It is quick and works well when switching from one credit card to another.
However if you have Uber credits available and request a switch from credit card to Uber credits, there is horrendous glitch. Namely, the switch will go seamlessly and you will be refunded the fare and theyll withdraw the corresponding amount from your Uber credits.
However, there is a glitch that the next time you log in the app, the app thinks you didnt pay for the ride (probably the app getting confused by the Uber credit) and has you entering a credit card. It then will charge you for the fare even though Uber has already withdrawn the fare from your credits per your earlier request. Basically, you just got double charged.
Good luck getting this reversed by Uber support.... Some of the most incompetent people out there.
Inevitably the agent will think you got the refund already because they look at the first refund. Itll take many back and forth and screenshots before theyll believe you and then inevitably another agent will take over and make you go through it again. One agent tried to convince me that I did get refunded even though the charge clearly posted.
Another agent kept asking me what card id like.to charge it to, completely missing the point this was a double charge situation.
And forget about trying to get a supervisor to a dually fix the issue. Doesnt exist.
If Uber wants to do right by its customers and not get crappy ratings and lose customers, then among other things please fire your existing customer service and hire competent ones or ones that can at least read.
