Unreasonable demand for my location data

With my iPhone Lyft app, I can allow Lyft to know my location "always," "while using the app," or "never." The clear best choice for me is "while using the app," since I dont want Lyft to be able to know everywhere Ive ever been.

But with Uber, my only choices are "always" and "never." I dont like either choice.
