I have been riding with Uber for almost 5 years and while I loved the app when it first launched, it has devolved into a chore at best and a complete nightmare at worst. I have deleted the app and will now exclusively use other services such as Via and Lyft. My driver drove away without me being in the car last night. I attempted to contact the driver to no avail. The customer service response was canned and not helpful whatsoever. Clearly, rider loyalty and frequency has no bearing on Ubers policies and that shows an egregious disregard for rider well-being in general. This incident coupled with routinely gouged prices, technical problems (app shutting down unexpectedly etc), and poor drivers (from the suburbs who dont know city streets or how to drive in the city) make Uber more trouble than it is worth. Dont give your money to this company, I know I no longer will be.
