I am so horrified by the things this company has done. I will not be driving with a company that promotes a culture of sexual violence and racism.

This app demands to track your location even when the app isnt running. Thats just unacceptable on iOS where the system supports the option to only track location while the app is running. Use Lyft instead.

The jig is up on Ubers refusal to grant users the ability to only enable location services while using the app. iOS 11 is finally going to force your hand. You might as well voluntarily re-enable the feature now.

Ubers got the best support comparing to all other apps in Brazil.

I keep checking with each update to see if the "Evil Empire" (as a friend of mine calls it) has stopped trying to track me everywhere I go, even when Im not using the app. But not yet. The latest update requires that you either give Uber the ability to track you at all times even when youre not using the app, or that you not be able to use location services at all (which you really need to use Uber conveniently). There is no non-nefarious reason Uber needs to know where I go after Im dropped off. Uber: why do you want to surveil me when Im not using your app? Why do you want my phone and battery life and data to be working in the background while Im not even using the app? Why is it the Lyft app does not need this data? Their app works with location data only while using the app. Perhaps Uber should try and hire some of the Lyft folks over to Uber to learn how Lyft gets the job done without invading my privacy. The selfish and immature conduct by the Uber Exec and apparently a lot of folks in management is well documented, so why trust Uber data they dont need. Ive switched to Lyft (which unfortunately has less cars and a smaller footprint) until this shady disrespect for my privacy is remedied.

By the way sometimes your app theres something with the pin. Its not the exact location.

I ise Uber on daily basis and it is cool.

Do. Not. Require. Always. On. Location. Services. Fix it. Its not necessary. I uninstall your app except when I absolutely have to use Uber over Lyft. And will continue to do so until you resolve that.

Could you imagine if your girlfriend or wife tried to track your every movement against your will? Until Uber stops using location services ALWAYS instead of "while using app" it gets a 1 star (zero if I could). It tracks you while youre not even using the app. It even tracks you after you delete the app. Creepy!

Updating the app every week to clean bad reviews. Im going to update my review and rate one star every single time!

an update of app that crashes repeatedly, written by a morally bankrupt company that has no regard for the rights of the very human beings from who its trying to extricate an obscene amount of money for a service of dubious quality provided by unsafe, inepepreienced, and inconsiderate drivers.

Really, Uber? Uber and Waze are the only Apps I have installed that have this option on. Its like you belong to the hall of shame of privacy! The amazing thing is that the actual "location" of pickup points gets worse and worse with each update. Makes you wonder what it is always on for...

If you haven’t taken a ride yet make sure you use the coupon "grantt160" and get $20 off your first ride! Seriously!! Enter it right before you request a ride in the promotions tab. Might as well try it out since it likely wont cost you a thing! The app is easy to use and intuitive, giving you important info like the driver’s face, phone number, and car make/model. It’s amazing how quick and seamless the entire process is. A car comes to your door within minutes of pressing a button! The drivers are real people, they are very polite and their cars are clean! Some even come with complimentary water and candy! Even if you want to charge your phone, a lot of drivers have car chargers at your ready! UberX is definitely cheaper than your average cab. After all this, I don’t see why you would ever use a cab again. Even if you want to get a black car on the occasional night out, it’s still cheaper and more convenient than hiring your own private driver. The customer support is also fantastic

Switching to Lyft since they seem to appreciate privacy more than Uber. Give us back the "only when using" option and Ill be back! See ya! *Update - Its been 6 months and Lyft works perfectly...glad I ditched Uber in February!

The app accesses your location all the time, and there is no way to change it to "only when in use". Therefore, you deserve 1 star.

Location is always on! Make it so its "while you are using the app only" or youll get a one star rating forever from me! Stop stalking me!!!! Update: Ok, Im sick of this app updating all of the time just to clear bad reviews. And the size of this app is completely ridiculous! I would give you zero stars for that if I could! Apple needs to look into your app and see if you are actually updating/fixing anything because I dont see any changes after I update!

First of all, if you haven’t taken a ride yet make sure you use the coupon “87DA3" to get $20 off your first ride!! Enter it right before you request a ride. Go to the Payment tab in the app and enter the coupon under promotions. Might as well try it out since it wont cost you a thing!! The app is simple, easy to use and intuitive by design, giving you important info like the driver’s face, phone number, and car make and model. It’s amazing how quick and seamless the entire process is. A car comes to your door within minutes of pressing a button! The drivers are real people, they are very polite and their cars are clean! Some even come with complimentary water, gum and candy!!! Even if you want to charge your phone, a lot of drivers have phone chargers at your ready!!! UberX is definitely cheaper than your average cab. After all this, I don’t see why you would ever use a yellow cab again. The customer support is also fantastic. I got overcharged on one of my trips and I didn’t have to say anything more than a comment on my driver feedback to get a full refund. I’m very happy and I hope Uber continues to exceed my expectations in not only the app but customer service!! I also prefer Uber much more than other competitors, mainly because they have so much more supply and cars are always just a few minutes away!!!
