I will not be using this app anymore. Because I declined letting the app keep tracking my location even while I am not using the app, it is now next to useless. Good thing I still have Lyft installed, because with Uber there is not an option in the privacy tab in the phones Settings app for setting the tracking of location "Only While Using", like there is for other apps (Including Lyft).

The CEO of Uber actively works with current fascist leader Donald Trump, and continued to operate while NYC cabs stopped in protest.

Why do we have to pay a fee if we want to cancel a trip after 5 minutes and if a driver canceled us in the same 5 minutes, we have to wait for another car o the next 2 couple of cars and we do not receive the fee from the driver?

Now ads from the app are not just distracting your experience, they are destroying your battery, using your our data plan, and spying, stealing info from your phone. Now this app gets one star. How can an app to use to spend money, they find the need to also add ads.

I hope Uber can bring back the option of tracking my location only when the app is open and that they stop tracking even if it is closed.

Uber continues its downward spiral and has lost my trust (and that of countless users). The perpetual location tracking in the recent versions is totally unacceptable. Making matters worse, they have *removed* the option to use iOSs native privacy controls to allow location tracking only while using the app. Lyft respects users privacy, unlike Uber. Also, Im no longer able to rate drivers, since after turning off location tracking theres a nag screen every time one opens or returns to the app, and that nag screen blocks the page where typically one would rate the driver right after a trip (dismissing the nag screen also dismissed the rating screen, which is a major design flaw). Uber has officially gone from hit-and-miss to terrible. And, on top of that, now Uber wants access to your contacts as well as your location. Pass.

Ive gotten 100+ rides with Uber and it consistently provides a great experience. The biggest advantage over other ride-sharing apps is the "no later than" arrival projection, this is crucial if you like being able to arrive on time. Highly recommend

Uber doesnt need to ALWAYS track my location while not in use. I need my battery life, thanks. Half the time the app shows me being in the middle of a lake or some other body of water so how well are you tracking me anyway!? Secondly, the new uber route pass is lame. If youre going to offer a discount, let me choose where I want to use it or give me an option of more than ONE destination for 28 days. You guys are making me turn to LYFT!

It is a reliable, user friendly, easy to navigate service. Very convenient for people who are in a hurry and dont have time to wait for the bus. I support uber as a company. Edit: moving to 1 star because they charge you when your driver doesnt go to the correct pickup location. I called and my driver did not answer. I shouldnt have to walk around the entire mall to meet them. Also one of my drivers never showed up and it showed him stopped for 20 minutes. I filed a report because I believed he was in an accident or something went wrong and they refused to contact him to find out. I should also have the option to block a driver. Sometimes I have awful drivers and they keep accepting my ride requests and I have to keep cancelling and I cant request an uber.

I have privacy concerns about Uber. I dont like how Uber has access to a users location even while not using the app. Why not have the option to allow location tracking while using the app only? I also just read extremely troubling news that Uber found a way to track users that deleted the app. Lyft is a much better alternative.

This company needs to figuratively pump the breaks. Ive experienced such poor customer service with both corporate and drivers. Ive gone from avid supporter to avid avoider of Uber :(. As a business rider who spends over 250 a week on uber, I dont know how they can regain my trust.

Didnt like the option of location always on. Will use Lyft until they change this.
