This update is terrible, app got slow, navigation is bad

This app makes no sense. Lets charge passengers more and drivers less. All these five stars are probably from the uber company. Rating will go back up once they care for the drivers.

Used to be able to just open app and request a ride with UberX being selected. Now UberSELECT is automatically selected. Well I was dumb enough not to check first and payed $40 more than my normal fare for the same kind of ride. It was a Buick Regal not a limo or something. How was this SELECT?

App tracks location in background. Company doesnt have a very good record with tracking users.

Uses my location when Im not in the app

I love Uber so much. Its cheap for me to get where I need to go and the readily available drivers are amazing. I havent had any strange encounters with drivers even though Ive heard some horror stories. I just wish Uber made a tipping option so I could tip my drivers because I rarely carry cash! Please add a tipping option!

And uber did absolutely nothing about it when we contacted them about this. No refund no apology. For your safety, please dont download this app. I felt so unsafe being in that car. Something serious could have happened.

Uber provides inaccurate maps for the drivers causing them to make wrong turns. I am on business this week and have ridden with 3 drivers today. All have had issues as I have my gps up as well. Not to mention, apparently uber must be putting fear into their drivers letting rude people control the drivers job. Another reason why I will be calling for Lyft more... disappointed to hear this about Ubers culture as all my drivers have been very kind.

At a rest stop on a turnpike and the app wont let anyone pick me up. I cant because its not an address according to uber. But they wouldnt tell me that, just kept canceling drivers. Now I got charged $5 for never receiving services. No reply, just kept changing drivers without giving them my proper address. Never using app again #LocalTaxi

Like the App and Service! Tested in many countries - love it when traveling - no tourist rip off by taxi drivers anymore. Annoying is that I cant use my different SIM cards and activation of a new SIM/tel. number never works. Would be great to register several numbers and then select the one currently using.

Very clean user interface and great design. Lots features. Dont even have to worry about tipping!

Living in a large city with high rises, you are never located on the map properly. This update brings a terrible way to pick your current location. You have to put in your destination, then it automatically selects your current location. You then have to select your current location to drop the pin. Not a major problem I suppose, but really annoying when an app takes 1 step forward and 2 steps back. This will be pretty annoying in urban areas to jump through the extra hoops when Lyft just lets you move the pickup location immediately. Update 6 months later. Last three days Uber has sent the drivers on a wild goose chase through alleys to pick me up in Chicago. Permanently switching to Lyft who hasnt dont that yet.

Uber used to be my favorite. Newest version wants to know youre location all the time even when not using the app which doesnt make sense. I will be switching to lyft

I have to write a review because they have some foreign support center who doesnt understand English handling the communications from within the app. I have a serious problem, I bought $100 worth of gift credit and have never been able to use it and its showing in the app that I AM using it but Uber doesnt use it. I select it as my payment type BEFORE my trip. And then Uber doesnt use it. 6 months now.

I like it cuz its cheaper than regular taxi however Ive noticed no matter how much money you spend in this app, you get nothing in return. No free rides once in a while, not even discounted rides.
