All the other bad stuff other people are complaining about is absolutely true... but wait theres more! This app will leave you stranded at the most inopportune times, then your support experience begins, all support is via email in the app! Brilliant you say! No 1-800? No, of course not, why would Uber want people flooding phone lines when this buggy piece of trash fails? Can you say SNAFU? Think Uber should consider rebranding at this point...
Until Uber stops using location services ALWAYS instead of "while using app" it gets a 1 star (zero if I could).
I needed a ride so I downloaded the app and signed up in advance. The very first time I tried it, it said my account was banned. I tried restarting and trying again and it still didnt work. I have never uber-ed in the past or ever signed up for an account so I have no idea what happened. I downloaded Lyft and was picked up in two minutes. I will never try uber again.
Getting around San Francisco without a car would be very difficult if I didnt have my uber app to help me get to my destination. Even with buses and BART, you cant beat the cost and accuracy of Uber
Uber forces you to always grant access to your location or never grant access to your location. There is no option to grant access to your location only while you are using the app.
Why does the app need access to location even when not in use? Apple allows for granular privacy settings and uber WAS using them before, and they switched it to always needing location, poor choice. Also, this app is HUGE. Lyft is half the size.

New maps feature in replacement of Waze is garbage. Its never find my home that is located inside an condominium of houses. Its make a lot of mistakes in Brazil like Uber to turn where ia not allowed. Please rollbacks and enable Waze again.

Nice new features, location always ON and we dont have the choice for "only when I use the app" option.
I have switched to Lyft simply because of the always on location tracking? Not sure why Uber even needs this but shady culture plus always on tracking equals #deleteuber
This app is worst than Lyft and it needs a f***** update real quick! Also using my location when Im not using the service, really? Im surprise uber hasnt gone out of business already!!
Beware especially in large venues of other people taking the uber you requested and getting charged (at surge prices!) for a ride you never took! Never mind being left without a ride! When I contacted customer service to explain what happened I got a quick response.... No Refund! I hope someone enjoyed that $60 ride I paid for! Disgusted with customer service! App deleted!!!
I will never again use their service. I used it for the first and last time. I scheduled a pick up for my son and his friends (teenagers). The driver was a few minutes early from the scheduled pick up time. After the driver called me, I called my son. Well lets just say that the driver pulled off exactly 5 minutes from the time he called me as my son and friends were walking towards the car. That shows me that an uber ride is unreliable.
Two drivers arrived at our pick up address, parked a few houses down so that they could check our destination (they dont know where they are taking you until they arrive at the pick up address). They then decided to cancel our ride to the airport. As a result we were over an hour late and missed our flight. Uber customer services response was rude and they refused to acknowledge responsibility or otherwise offer any compensation. Saving $20 compared to a professional taxi service cost us over $1000 in rebooking costs. Think twice before you trust Uber.
