What happened to allowing location services only when this app is running? How is it a good thing to let UBER drain my phone battery by always having my location? Im switching to Lyft until UBER changes this. 12/30/16 Theyre still doing it. Ill keep checking and updating my review. 2/11/17 Uber is still a stalker. 3/2/17 Uber is still a battery sucking stalker. 3/10/17 Another update, still no change. Updating this review is starting to become an outlet for my disappointment. 3/29/17 Yup. UBER still done nothing to fix this. 4/6/17 UBER is still a 1 star battery sucking stalker app. Im sticking with LYFT 4/14/17 Another wasted UBER update, they still want my battery life. 5/1/17 Another update, no change. Funny thing... LYFT has majority 5 star rating... hmmm 5/16/17 Several updates later, no change, still happy using LYFT. I gunna give it a few months before I check again.

Location tracking is all or nothing with Uber. Normal apps offer "track only when using", but Uber demands "Always track". If the past year has taught us anything, its "dont trust Uber to do the right thing". Partial workaround: disable GPS for the Uber app, and only turn it back on if you absolutely must use Uber. In the meantime Ive been using the friendly Uber competitor, and so far its worked like a charm. Thanks Uber, for encouraging me to check out other apps!

Can you make it so that Uber has the option to use my location only when Im using the app?

You took away the option of sharing location only while using the app. Guess whats easier than having to go into my settings every time to re-enable location and disable location?? ...using Lyft from now on. Put location sharing back to the users choice. ADDITIONALLY, I consider this company to be a bunch of scumbags for releasing a new update every few days to wipe out the negative reviews. There are no real updates to the app. If there were it would be from listening to the rage of their users and giving back the option of location while only using the app. And Ill continue to give 1 star until they do. Update: Uber recently sent an email "noticing" that I disabled location for the App. Well no crap, thats what happens when you dont care about user privacy. Im sure they had to send out a lot of those emails to others. My location will remain disabled until they bring back the option for only when using the app, and my business continues to go to Lyft.

Please update the Apple Watch app. Its very laggy and Id like it to actually help me with my uber rides. On another note, can you guys get phone support? The chat is frustrating and horrible. Oh and you know why that is? Its because I need to contact support 75% of the time that I use Uber. How about you guys charge me what Im actually supposed to be charged, instead of me having to chase you down for a refund. There should be no situation where an Uber pool says itll cost $4.80, and end up costing me $19.50 because of an Uber pool rider who didnt show up, making the ride way longer. Absurd. $9, fine. $10, sure. $20?! No. Just no.

Usually good sometimes I use lyft and the cars are nicer lol

This may seem small but I really do not the feature that allows drivers to rate their passengers. I got a bad rating for something that wasnt even my fault. There is no point in having that feature. I dont work for Uber. Remove this please!!

Too many negative things to list. Uber doesnt respect user privacy, doesnt respect the drivers, doesnt allow tipping from within the app, the app uses too much space, their corporate culture is terrible, etc. Lyft is a much better arrived for users, drivers and communities.

You have to have a card to use app.

16May2017 update: still no "while using the app" location service option, still not using Uber at all. This has to be one of the most arrogant things Uber has tried to date. As long as they dont allow the option to share location only while in the app I wont be using them. Its Lyft instead.

Today I took my first and second ride on Uber and have had two great experiences. I expect to take my third ride tonight. What is best is the map with the car icon superimposed and the fact that the app gives you the name of the driver and any riders (if you do rise-sharing, which I did the second trip). And the price is good too!

As I didnt feel safe while traveling to airport with a driver whom just smoked a blunt before I was picked up. That would be zero stars

So on Wi-Fi I use Uber and if Im not on Wi-Fi then Im forced to use left please fix this bug

Ive always been an advocate and daily user of Uber s this one-star rating is a bit unfortunate. My account was randomly deactivated the other day and all attempts to contact Uber have gone on deaf ears. This is due in part because their ONLY means of communication is through messaging. Unbelievably theres no way to contact Uber by phone so Im left helpless. Totally disappointed by the lack of care for the customer

Its impossible to create an Uber account using Apple app. It keep asking the same question as if i was in a loop! Horrible. I needed to create an account using another device! Please fix it!
