Use Lyft instead
Much cheaper than taxis.
If Lyft isnt available in your area, and you dont mind supporting a company that tracks your location at all times, and endorses sexual harassment and Trumps draconian views.
Nice new features, location always ON and we dont have the choice for "only when I use the app" option.
I was reluctant on using Uber and was finally convinced to give it a shot - 2 days after using the app and taking my first ride my credit card was compromised and hundreds of "rides" and "UberEats" charges are being made in a different country!! Cant find and email or phone number to contact someone about this and I am unable to delete my credit card details. Someone did call me but charges are still coming in.... so frustrating! Will delete the app as soon as I can clear details and not use Uber again. So disappointed
I take the same trip everyday and its always different prices! Also it need an option to TYPE IN RATINGS. So we can let the drivers know their car stink or needs cleaning. And it would be great to be able to refuse a driver especially if he looks creepy or weve had him and didnt like service
I love those app, the cars are always nice, clean, and cozy..they arrive very quickly, usually between 5 to 7 mins. Im not an uber employee Im just a regular girl who loves this app because it has made my life so much easier..whenever im in a hurry to get something done or go somewhere, I dont have to depend on my friends or family for anything I dont have to worry about my ride not showing..and the drivers are very nice and friendly they are local and love doing business with them..my first ride was free and so I would like to offer my code for anyone willing to try this app its great..Go ahead and try it ➡️ Download and apply this code mikaylap729ue
Every 2 weeks is a new update and Increased price by like 10 cents. Soon a ride that cost 2 dollars 3 months ago now is like 475 and would be like 10 bucks regular ta you price pretty soon.

UPDATE 2: As others have pointed out, Uber is likely pushing new updates just to clear out the bad reviews. Theyre hoping people will lose interest after a while and they can get away with their deceptive practices unchecked. UPDATE: It looks like Uber was forced to remove the obvious lie from their app description, but with this version of the app they still can monitor your location at all times--not just when youve used Uber recently. And what about all the people who allowed the app to monitor their location because they believed the lie? The latest "feature" described in this update shows Uber never intended to keep that promise even for a second. Shame on them. Im an iOS developer and the description about how theyll use your location information is simply not true. With this configuration not only can they monitor your location for up to 5 minutes after you use the app, but also for up to 5 minutes *practically any time they want*, whether youve used the app or not. Additionally, apps that monitor your location all the time are one of the bigger causes of battery drain, even on newer devices. To the developers: Just be honest--youre yet another company who wants to snoop in on where people go and make a few extra bucks selling that information to the highest bidder. Many people will use the app anyway. The really irritating thing is that you easily could have left the original option (to get location info only while the app is being used) so that tech savvy people could change it in Settings. Instead you chose to explicitly remove that option and try to force people to accept something that benefits you at the expense of their batteries. Deleted. If you want my business youll have to bring the option back. Aside from Lyft, there are still plenty of cabs in D.C. and thanks to the competition the cabs are much better than they used to be.

I waited for an Uber driver that was supposed to arrive in 8 min but took 20 min. Canceled the ride and got charged $5. And my next ride was 20 min away. Whats up with that.
When you search the airport of your city, check the route carefully because possibly the destination is set to the middle of a runway and the route is several miles longer than it should be. As a result, youre paying $4~$6 extra for the distance you wont travel. I reported to Uber several month ago and never heard back. And, do they think people are used to the "Always on" location tracking? No reason for me to allow them to track my location 5 minutes after drop off, and no reason to trust them only doing what the claimed to do. And, people like me still havent forgotten that Uber requested hundreds of Lyft cars then cancelled them and did so again and again. What a mean company. Not that Im still using this app. In fact, I have not used it ever since I found the overcharging trap. Not to mention the location tracking. Im just keeping this app installed so that I can get back and leave a 1-star review whenever it is updated.
Im not going to recommend Uber. Why? Uber pulls the resale value out of your car to Pay YOU. Uber needs to compensate and pay the drivers real money so they can fix and maintain their car. Uber doesnt pay much to the drivers at all (Uber keeps about 60% of what the rider pays UBER). Once you consider your fuel cost, extremely high cost of ride-share car insurance, car maintenance, terrible wear and tear inside/outside of the car, significant loss of value at resale due to extremely high mileage Uber is not worth it. The Uber app is a very bad deal for the driver. However, the riders are getting a great deal on your dime and time. Sorry for the bad new. Thank you
Still sticking to their tracking I see, nothing has changed. It will get a high review again when location services can be set to "When Using App." There is no need for Uber to always know my location and who can trust them nowadays anyway??? Lyft in a great alternative and I dont have to worry about my privacy.
The driver took 30 mins to arrive and when I tried to cancel the trip Im still gonna get $5 charge! The driver didnt speak English and when I told him to pick me up at the emergency room (which has big red sign, like all ER) he didnt know how to read! The worst experience since I started using Uber!
Cool app free uber ride up to $20 use code asha2669ue like the app best Uber ever.,..
Now Uber app wants access to your calendar so Uber can spy on all your appointments and calendar info, all in the guise of not having to manually copy and paste the occasional address into the app. No thanks! Uber took away the customers choice to allow tracking location only when using the app. Now Uber wants to always track your location even when youre not using the app. Your only choice now with Uber is to allow the app to always track your location (even when not using the app) or to never allow the app to track your location (app wont work properly). Fortunately, competition exists with Lyft and I will be using them as long as they give me the choice that Uber has now taken away from me.
The crisis in leadership at Uber has manifested itself in this companys inability to listen to its employees, drivers and customers. Since Uber began forcing users to Always allow location services, countless customers have complained. In typical Uber fashion, expediency has overruled compassion and empathy and customer complaints have been ignored. Uber cannot continue to do this.
Totally unnecessary and very creepy to _always_ track our location. They took away the option to use it while the app is running only. Turned that off. This pushed me to try Lyft, which is now my first choice. No different from Uber, except they somehow dont need to always track me. Ubers privacy policy basically states that they can use the data that they collect however they want and sell it to whomever they want. Buyer beware. Update: havent used or opened the app since this update. Just got an email saying that I have it turned off and please turn it on. That is creepy as hell. I trust them 0% to know how to use private data.
