Avoid update - serious issues with current version.

This newest version of the Uber app has a serious issue where it asks you to give it rights to your exact location ALL the time - not only when youre taking a ride, but also while you sleep, while youre at work, while youre driving your own car - literally ALWAYS. All-the-time GPS drains batteries, and I dont want to give Uber the right to sniff my every move every minute of the day. It is just creepy that Uber would want the access to pry into their customers every moment. Do they share customer location data with drivers? Or just with the executive offices? Creep-out! I suggest you try some of excellent alternatives that dont abuse personal information. Most of the same exact drivers work for the alternatives too, but without these troubling personal privacy practices offered by Uber. And most alternatives, I have learned, are less expensive. We all win! Original Review: Since the app and service are tightly coupled, my review is for both. Overall, very good. Generally better than a cab. I have had one problem driver - crazy guy - but likely no less crazy than some cab drivers I have had. App could be easier to use, but it is quite good.

Charged inaccurate fees and has terrible customer service

Charged an inaccurate cleaning fee for a mess that did not occur and customer service did nothing to assess the removal of all the money from my checking account. Dont download and dont agree to terms and conditions. Use lyft or get a cab

Had me waiting for 30 mins

Should have a way to complain or cancel when the driver doesnt move. Driver waited 28 minutes to cancel. Would pick up my calls either. Using Lyft

Company treats drives very poorly. The app it self tracks you 24/7 these guys are worse then Walmart .

Since Uber doesnt want to tell us what they changed, we can draw one of two conclusions: either they changed nothing, but just wanted to waste your bandwidth and the App Store reviewers time, or they dont want us to know what they changed. So, in this version, Ill tell you that theyve added the ability for Uber to take control of your phone, drive you to a random location of their choosing instead of your selected destination, and double-charge your card as a "tip". If that isnt what they added, maybe theyll include release notes next time to prove me wrong. Until then, watch where youre going...

Family profile?

No Family Profile option under Setting, no tech support! Useless!

Convenient

I had eye problems and couldnt drive. Ive used Uber and greatly appreciate that I can go to different places without depending on family members and friends too much. I just wish UberWAV and UberAssist is available in all cities as my mom is wheelchair bound.

Why cant Iber tell its riders WHAT COLOR the Drivers Vehicle is. I waste so much of my time (and my drivers time) looking for each other. Why do I have to look for. Hyundai Sonata in the dark amongst hundreds of other similar vehicles. Then when I finally find my driver, his car is bright RED! Join me in asking Uber to add a mandatory field for Drivers to enter the vehicle COLOR. It will make Uber better for Everyone!!!

Please stop with this nonsense. Tracking my location even when Im not using the app like really? This is an invasion of privacy! This should be banned from the App Store.

Wouldnt take me to school

They wouldnt take me to school because I wasnt 18 the guy even closed out my account so now I cant use Uber anymore and get to school because I wasnt 18

When you see a message stating that your driver is deaf or hard of hearing...cancel...thats code for doesnt speak or understand English.

Do NOT waste your money

I had ordered an uber for my cousin while he was at Krogers getting groceries. He was waiting outside for a while before calling me and tell me the Uber had not arrived. I was very surprised because on my phone the app showed the trip was happening. But in reality someone else got into the Uber and drove to some other place. Even when I tried to contact the Uber driver he would not pick up. I was hoping the driver (named Alvin) would take whoever he picked up to my house(the final destination) but he never even showed up. I was charged for the ride and I had to order another uber. When I tried to contact uber to get help with my situation they basically said I was lying and dismissed my whole case. DO NOT USE THIS APP
