I will not be using this app anymore; because I declined letting it keep tracking my location even while I am not using the app, it is now next to useless. Good thing I still have Lyft installed, because with Uber there is not even an option in the privacy tab on the phones settings for tracking location "Only while using", like there is for other apps (Including Lyft).

The CEO is a sneaky scum. Im going to maintain the app just to keep maintaining the 1-star review until they return the option back to track us only when using the app. If you decide to use uber, disable location and type the address yourself. Drains less battery and gives you some privacy.

I had scheduled a ride with enough time allotted for the driver to pick me up then be early to work now I will be a couple minutes to 10 minutes late because of your new update that I used to think was cool and good for both driver and user but now I see that it is unhelpful as I watched my Ubers expected arrival time to my location increase by more than 5 minutes. Problem #2: Ubers gps is not integrating well with google maps and my drivers are taking wrong turns. Most use other GPS apps because of this fact

The discount offer as a first-time user never worked. Because it was a lame fraudulent fake-publicity hook. The very first time I requested a driver, it took 15 min. to order, just to get a message saying the "driver canceled the trip, please request another trip". I closed the app and never used it again. Later, I received a message saying I was charged $5. I thought it must have been an error, since I never received the services. After emailing Uber requesting a refund, they explained it was part of their "terms & conditions" to charge me (regardless if they provided the services or not). However, they were "kind" enough to offer it as a credit to my account on my next ride. They lied again, it never happpened. Therefore, I decided to cancel Uber once and for all. Be aware, they are a company of white-collar criminals.

I cant even input my phone number at the first step and keeps saying theres an unknown error. Garbage and lyft is getting me now

The app is simple, easy to use and intuitive by design, giving you important info like the driver’s face, phone number, and car make and model. It’s amazing how quick and seamless the entire process is. A car comes to your door within minutes of pressing a button!!! The drivers are real people, they are very polite and their cars are clean! Some even come with complimentary water, gum and candy!!! Even if you want to charge your phone, a lot of drivers have phone chargers at your ready!!!! UberX is definitely cheaper than your average cab. After all this, I don’t see why you would ever use a yellow cab again. The customer support is also fantastic. I got overcharged on one of my trips and I didn’t have to say anything more than a comment on my driver feedback to get a full refund. I’m very happy and I hope Uber continues to exceed my expectations in not only the app but customer service!!! I also prefer Uber much more than other competitors, mainly because they have so much more supply and cars are always just a few minutes away!!!

The ideas great, the company has questionable ethics, and this app wants permission to track you 24/7 (rather than just when youre using the app, like other, more reasonable apps)

It is very convenient when I want to go to somewhere that I cant take bus to, just tap the buttun and you are good to go!

I supported Ubers right to operate legally in my city but now they are lobbying to not pay taxes in Canada. Truly obnoxious!

Why do you need to access my location all the time? This is an invasion of privacy. And stop updating every 3 days we all know youre just trying to get rid of the bad reviews.

We travel from coast to coast and this app has never disappointed us. Its our go to app weather its the airport or just go out. Love it.

Uber just robs money

I probably could have gotten over my drivers extremely dangerous driving (honked at more than once, all over the road), car that reeked of marijuana and loud, expletive-filled music. However, when he parked in front of a fire hydrant, got out of the car without saying anything and peed in an alley, I knew Id report my experience to Uber. I did. They gave me a lame apology and credited—not refunded—$5 for the ride to my account, which was not even the entire cost of the ride. After a slew of bad drivers and worse customer service—not to mention the company and CEOs internal issues—this was the last straw for me. You can keep your lousy $5 credit, Uber.

I keep checking with each update to see if the "Evil Empire" (as a friend of mine calls it) has stopped trying to track me everywhere I go, even when Im not using the app. But no. The latest update requires that you either give Uber the ability to track you at all times even when youre not using the app, or that you not be able to use location services at all (which you really need to use Uber conveniently). There is no non-nefarious reason Uber needs to know where I go after Im dropped off. Uber: why do you want to surveil me when Im not using your app? Why do you want my phone and battery life and data to be working in the background while Im not even using the app? Why is it the Lyft app does not need this data? Their app works with location data only while using the app. Perhaps Uber should try and hire some of the Lyft folks over to Uber to learn how Lyft gets the job done without invading my privacy. The selfish and immature conduct by the Uber Exec is well documented, so why trust Uber data they dont need. Ive switched to Lyft (which unfortunately has less cars and a smaller footprint) until this shady disrespect for my privacy is remedied.

Please give an option to add gratuity.

Great company great app. Good way to supplement the crappy public transport system in smaller cities. I like that they dont let politics get in the way of doing what they want either.
