My uber drive got LOST and took me about 25 minutes out of the way from my destination. I asked him if the rate would be changed since I should not have to pay for his mistake, and he said it would be. Well, a few days later, I was charged over $60 because of his mistake!!! I contacted uber about it and they said there was nothing they could do. Uber is toast. I will now be using Lyft!

Uber doesnt have an option for limiting Location usage to just when Im using the app (the "While Using" setting). Privacy conscious users are forced to either uninstall Uber or muddle through a significantly degraded user experience.

Great app and service, but one star for useless update summary. The new location policy is wrong.

First of all, if you haven’t taken a ride yet make sure you use the coupon “arezooa" to get $20 off your first ride!! Enter it right before you request a ride. Go to the Payment tab in the app and enter the coupon under promotions. Might as well try it out since it wont cost you a thing! The app is simple, easy to use and intuitive by design, giving you important info like the driver’s face, phone number, and car make and model. It’s amazing how quick and seamless the entire process is. A car comes to your door within minutes of pressing a button! The drivers are real people, they are very polite and their cars are clean! Some even come with complimentary water, gum and candy!!! Even if you want to charge your phone, a lot of drivers have phone chargers at your ready!!! UberX is definitely cheaper than your average cab. After all this, I don’t see why you would ever use a yellow cab again. The customer support is also fantastic. I got overcharged on one of my trips and I didn’t have to say anything more than a comment on my driver feedback to get a full refund. I’m very happy and I hope Uber continues to exceed my expectations in not only the app but customer service!! I also prefer Uber much more than other competitors, mainly because they have so much more supply and cars are always just a few minutes away!!!

Was stranded somewhere and figured no big deal Ill call uber. Too bad uber was stalling and wouldnt get past the payment screen. Had to wake my boyfriend up who lives 45 minutes away. Way to go uber try updating your technology

Quite simply an awful update that shows no respect for users. There simply is no need to track us at all times, and to take away the option to only give location while using. Youre asking us to trust you as a company that had a "god mode" they used to track unfriendly journalists? You must be bloody kidding? .

Follows your location everywhere. Switched to Lyft

Not accurate with time, I can rate the drivers better than the app. The inaccuracy has made me late to work numerous of times. I let Uber know but they give a irrelevant answer to my question all the time. Makes me wonder if its all automated really.

No problems ever. Even had a uber driver treat me to Wendys once. Unlike Lyft who cant even find your pickup location.

The drivers are so rude and often have attitudes. Many of them dont know how to read a GPS and try and take the longest route to increase the fare.

Consider the other guys! Poor service that has gotten ruder and ruder. Poor user interface. Poor ethics. Problematic location tracking!! And drains the battery. Apple, is this really the type of app you want in the store?? Criminal behavior. Apple - remove from "essentials". Stories about Apple CEO lecturing Uber do not impress, take action! Not a consumer friendly company. Will my location data get hacked when Uber gets hacked? Why do you need my location when not using the app??? PRIVACY CONCERN!! And app quality getting worse not better. Go with the other guys. Apple- this app should be removed from "essentials" as nobody needs a battery draining 24/7 location tracker to hail a ride sharing service. This is not essential to anyone... Uber, the update you tried to sneak past us right before thanksgiving changes the location services to being able to track me even when not using the app. That is unacceptable. Just deleted the app and will NOT be using Uber anymore. #badpolicy #shameful Really a step backwards for Uber.

I used Uber for 5 weeks and I love the app it is a great way to get a taxi. It tells the persons or drivers plate so you know there the real person theres no problem.

Better yet, stay away! I almost never write reviews but today I had to make an exception. Im currently traveling in Vietnam and recently booked a ride through uber. The pickup ETA was 5 minutes. I monitored the driver who accepted the booking to see his progress and realized he was heading away from my location. I waited 15 minutes before canceling the ride. At the time I canceled, the ETA was 15 minutes and increasing. Waiting a total of 30 minutes... probably more, for a ride with an original ETA of 5 minutes was unacceptable. It should be noted that I was with my 2-year-old son waiting in poring rain. I rebooked and got another ride in less than 5 minutes. This was not the reason for the zero star rating... the reason was that afterwards, I was charged a cancellation fee. I refused to pay and explained why. Customer service did not even read or acknowledge my reasons for canceling. They just told me that canceling after 5 minutes you will be charged a fee. They didnt care that it was their fault that I canceled. They didnt care that I had to wait for a ride that may take forever to show up. Its because of this that I will never use uber again. Their policy is that once you book a ride, you have 5 minutes to cancel without any fees. After 5 minutes, you will be charged. They dont care the reason. You are expected to wait for your ride. Even if it takes forever to get there. I did not change my mind... I just couldnt wait 30 minutes or more for a ride that was supposed to be there in 5 so I booked another one. A service like this among other things should be reliable and on time. I can understand once in awhile with a new driver, it may not go smoothly but to penalize the customer is wrong.

To be honest this app doesnt deserve one star because my uber never came! I request an uber to a destination from my house that was only 15 minutes away and it never came. The app would show that there was 10 cars available but not a single one came! This app needs to be fixed in order to actually help people arrive to their destination. Up to this point this app deserve no publicity at all because the service is just not acceptable!

A driver picks me up at the wrong location. So I end up having to carry my daughter who just had a cast put on because of a broke leg from plus a bunch of bag 5th to 6th Ave in NYC to go meet the car and Uber in a display of all its wisdom and arrogance charges me wait time!!!! When I bring it up to their attention their answer is essentially go pound sand. Thanks but not thanks. Lyft all the way from now on!

cant even log into the app because i have so many different emails and forgot the password.. you cant make a new account either so thanks uber you literally forced me to stop using your business, peace out, im not wasting another 10 mins on this.

Today was my first time trying Uber I really enjoyed it I know theres things that could be fixed or improved Ive read some comments of critics I know you can download an app for the iPad I hope they can get that fixed because Im getting cut off every time I try to go on the app from the iPad like I said its my first time, the other thing Id like to see them get is a toll-free number so people can talk to someone on the other hand learn from your competitors, Like I said its my first time I really enjoy it Ill keep using them & tell others also make sure they get more business, By the way whoever reads the negative comments from critics before you let your mind wander try it out first and see for your self & then decided.
