App support when having problems is absolutely horrendous. Support staff are clueless with problem solving and seemed trained to only offer generic replies to every issue. I am waiting 2 months now to have a payment issue resolved.
Disaster and disappointment
Uber allowed you to switch payment methods after a ride if you used the wrong one. It is quick and works well when switching from one credit card to another. However if you have Uber credits available and request a switch from credit card to Uber credits, there is horrendous glitch. Namely, the switch will go seamlessly and you will be refunded the fare and theyll withdraw the corresponding amount from your Uber credits. However, there is a glitch that the next time you log in the app, the app thinks you didnt pay for the ride (probably the app getting confused by the Uber credit) and has you entering a credit card. It then will charge you for the fare even though Uber has already withdrawn the fare from your credits per your earlier request. Basically, you just got double charged. Good luck getting this reversed by Uber support.... Some of the most incompetent people out there. Inevitably the agent will think you got the refund already because they look at the first refund. Itll take many back and forth and screenshots before theyll believe you and then inevitably another agent will take over and make you go through it again. One agent tried to convince me that I did get refunded even though the charge clearly posted. Another agent kept asking me what card id like.to charge it to, completely missing the point this was a double charge situation. And forget about trying to get a supervisor to a dually fix the issue. Doesnt exist. If Uber wants to do right by its customers and not get crappy ratings and lose customers, then among other things please fire your existing customer service and hire competent ones or ones that can at least read.
Did you know Uber has no phone number you can call? Their Help section in the app also really needs work.

Go to the Payment tab in the app and enter the coupon under promotions. Might as well try it out since it wont cost you a thing! The app is simple, easy to use and intuitive by design, giving you important info like the driver’s face, phone number, and car make and model. It’s amazing how quick and seamless the entire process is. A car comes to your door within minutes of pressing a button! The drivers are real people, they are very polite and their cars are clean! Some even come with complimentary water, gum and candy!!! Even if you want to charge your phone, a lot of drivers have phone chargers at your ready!!! UberX is definitely cheaper than your average cab. After all this, I don’t see why you would ever use a yellow cab again. The customer support is also fantastic. I got overcharged on one of my trips and I didn’t have to say anything more than a comment on my driver feedback to get a full refund. I’m very happy and I hope Uber continues to exceed my expectations in not only the app but customer service!! I also prefer Uber much more than other competitors, mainly because they have so much more supply and cars are always just a few minutes away!!!

Ive used this app multiple times since the summer of 2016. Good app, drains battery a bit. Just wish there were more car selections, and cheaper as well. $10-12 for one person (if not 2) is a little high!

I was charged a $75 cleaning fee for a mess and didnt make and they refused to help resolve my issue.
This app doesnt provide the option to use gps only while using app. One has to consent to being tracked everywhere 24/7 for app to work. No thanks. You dont deserve my business.
Im not going to recommend this app from Uber. The Uber app pulls the resale value out of your car to Pay YOU. Uber needs to compensate and pay the drives real money, so they can fix and maintain there cars. Uber doesnt pay much to the drivers at all (Uber keeps about 60% of what the rider pay UBER). Once you consider your fuel cost, extremely high cost of ride-share car insurance, car maintenance and the terrible wear and tear on the car itself plus significant lose of value of your car at resale, especially because of the super high miles on your vehicle. The Uber app is a very bad deal for the drive. However the riders are getting a great deal on your dime and time. Sorry for the bad new.

I use Uber regularly since they added fixed fares. No more getting screwed around by the driver trying to maximize your fare. Theyre actually motivated to get you where you need to go on time. I dont care about the change in privacy controls. Smarten up guys, if a company wants your info, Lyft included, they have millions of ways of obtaining it whether your location services are turned off or not. Not going to stop me from using Uber. Only issue is that the quality of the cars varies immensely depending on where you are. NYC is usually pretty good. In Miami and Boca Raton Ive been driven in beat up, dirty mini-vans and lowered Nissans with political signage plastered all over them. It seems like in some towns theyll hire anyone with a car regardless of its condition/appropriateness.
Absolutely love the integration with Google, never even need to use the actual Uber app, can do it all in one. Keep it up Uber !
Uber pool has a terrible algorithm and should be stopped, how is it right for both passengers to have to go to complete other sides of town?
