Dont use Uber in NYC theater area

Which is exactly where you need a car service. Unfortunately, if youre at a place inconvenient to the driver, they will cancel your confirmed request or just not show up. When you call them after theyve clearly taken another easier fare, they dont pick up. Too much demand in this area has bred poor service. Now I get to haggle with Uber for the cancellation fees. Taking an NYC cab was less expensive though just as time consuming. Lastly, and suspiciously, my requests in this part of the city continually failed when I tried to use my Amex. Hmmm

I now use Lyft

I only use Uber eats now cause thats just a brilliant idea. If Lyft starts delivering food I definitely will switch over and never use Uber again cause of my expirerencs have caused me to be late work, and a lot of frustration and headaches. Im not even going to get into detail cause a lot of other reviews here are similar to my experiences and its sad. So done.

Too few drivers

There are too few drivers on the app unless you are in an area that is a hot spot. Other ride sharing apps have drivers everywhere. Even areas that are pretty sparse and not that busy

Use this $20 coupon

First of all, if you haven’t taken a ride yet make sure you use the coupon “jessican10898ue" to get $20 off your first ride!! Enter it right before you request a ride. Go to the Payment tab in the app and enter the coupon under promotions. Might as well try it out since it wont cost you a thing! The app is simple, easy to use and intuitive by design, giving you important info like the driver’s face, phone number, and car make and model. It’s amazing how quick and seamless the entire process is. A car comes to your door within minutes of pressing a button! The drivers are real people, they are very polite and their cars are clean! Some even come with complimentary water, gum and candy!!! Even if you want to charge your phone, a lot of drivers have phone chargers at your ready!!! UberX is definitely cheaper than your average cab. After all this, I don’t see why you would ever use a yellow cab again. The customer support is also fantastic. I got overcharged on one of my trips and I didn’t have to say anything more than a comment on my driver feedback to get a full refund. I’m very happy and I hope Uber continues to exceed my expectations in not only the app but customer service!! I also prefer Uber much more than other competitors, mainly because they have so much more supply and cars are always just a few minutes away!!!

If I could give a negative 5 stars I would. Goin thru his ridiculous customer service email bs for the last 2 days to get nowhere. After losing my phone in an uber having to buy a new 1 and cant update my info, I would advise ppl to leave this company and hit them where it hurts.

Incorrectly charged cancellation fee!

While in Washington D.C. recently, I called for an Uber ride. After about 13 minutes, I was informed that the ride had been cancelled and to call for another car, which I did. That ride was also cancelled. I suppose that the third time is the charm, because the third ride I called for actually showed up and delivered me to my destination. I found out later that my credit card had been charged a cancellation fee for the first ride I had called! In series of emails to customer support at Uber, I reported the incident. I never got any resolution to the problem. Needless to say, I probably will never call Uber again!

Do not use with Low power mode!!!!

When you order a uber on low power mode it automatically crashes the app to conserve energy!!! Uber will still charge you for the failed attempts !!!! Please boycott corporate thieves !!!

The App is pathetic

Never accepts my passwords even after I reset. Cant update my phone number so I had to link my wifes phone. Always sends driver a couple blocks from me. Switching to Lyft

I hate Uber

Buy 45 dollars worth of credits an I cant use them because I dont have a compatible card. No way to receive refund. Ive been robbed.

Terrible Customer Service

If you have any issues during, or after your ride, it is ridiculously difficult to resolve. Often when you send an email, you receive an automated email back that doesnt specifically answer your question or directly address the issue. If for any reason the driver cancels even if it is not your fault, you are automatically charged. If the driver takes a different/poor route you are automatically charged for that route. There is no customer service personnel, if there are any issues you are dealing with a computer, I had Uber for two years used it frequently, I liked how readily available the rides were and the prices for the most part, but after many headaches of being erroneously charged, I decided to delete my account and switch to Lyft and Via, save yourself the hassle and headache and do the same.

Why is the app tracking my location even when Im not ordering a ride (and havent taken a ride in weeks)?

Find OLA better

Have been using Uber for last 2 years ardently in India and US. Recently used OLA and it was great experience. OLA beats Uber by large in India in comfort, features, availability and overall drive experience.

DO NOT UPGRADE

I upgraded. Bad move. The first trip worked, but then the app got "stuck" and would not consider the trip ended. It did not impact billing, but it refused to let me start another trip. (Uber app developers: the pull down menu "floats" down the screen and wont take a tap to activate.) I killed the app multiple times. No joy. I deleted and restored from back up. It works again. Wait for the point release. That problem is likely fixed, but until they change the app back to access my location only "while using" the app, Im sticking with an older version.

Five stars till they sucked

I paid for a pickup up five times. And the five minutes didnt change, until it became 6, then 7 minutes over the course of 30 minutes while everyone waited. Ive referred Uber to countless people. Even had referred Uber as a job to one of the people this eve. Looks like it is Lyft or Yellow Cab from now on though. What happened??? In reading reviews it looks like Im not the only one. Uber was good while it lasted.

Inexcusable back end

Logged on to the website to update my payment and it says I need to do it in the app. There is no settings menu in the app, just a circular menu between a ride request and location services request. I get the feeling I cant fully access the app until I turn on location services globally on my iPhone. No thank you. Ill try lyft.
