The app prompts riders to drop a pin rather than enter the EXACT address. This leads to poor quality pick up location data. Riders then have to confirm the address over the phone or text the proper address - the step that could have been skipped if proper address was entered in the first place. Had uber devised a convenient was to enter addresses, it would have led to faster pick-ups. The app vehicle location tracking function has unacceptable lag (by a couple of minutes), confusing the riders with the absurd ETA. The riders dons see where the car IS, they can only see where the car WAS. The riders are not allowed to voluntarily submit their pictures for faster pick-ups. However, the riders are forced to share their location 24/7. Riders have to use third party apps like Cash app for cashless tipping - really inconvenient. There is no mandatory security recording in the vehicle to assure the riders safety. Riders cant request only those drivers that volunteered for fingerprint check. The app looks poorly designed, busy with too many offers and promotions.

Worst app ever no customer service # hella expensive takes forever cant even update ur account cant even verify ur number even though u get the text and put in the 4 digits number it doesnt recognize it wat kinda crap app is this

This app is great but hate when it tracks you 24/7 it doesnt need that.

Requires gps all the time, cannot set use gps when needed. Eat all the battery. Hard to use and select. To easy to pop up and request a car, where you just want to click around and try it. No idea how the payment method works. Seems to randomly select payment method. Interesting enough that uber has been out for a while, the app is still such awful.

I dont trust this company. The fact that they want to track my location all the time is unacceptable. The CEO looks to be everything that is wrong with the valley. His hubris, arrogance and immaturity are not going to be supported by me and my money. Nor is his toxic company. I installed Lyft today, works fine.

Wants 24/7 access to gps location - not just when using the app. KNOCK IT OFF WITH THE SPYWARE. Give us back the "when using app" option

App used to say tip everything was included. Now it says you can not just through the app. With more of an emphasis on a tip, the app should allow it.

Loved that the app allowed me to pay with Apple Pay. App is well designed with accurate maps of drivers

Uber was a great idea and such a better experience than taxis. The only thing they have fallen behind from their competitors and seem to refuse to add basic functionality people want like the convenience of being able to tip inside the app. Instead they are focused on making the UI confusing and harder to get a ride without playing 20 questions with the app and trying to get you to post on social media. Not to mention they force you to reveal your location even when not using the application. So instead of providing great service they are now spying on you 24/7 when they have absolutely no business knowing your location data. Basically Im just using lyft now until uber gets around to adding this basic convenience to their app. Its just a hassle to have to remember to have cash. Still more useless features and no in app tipping!!!!

Stop tracking people 24/7. Add the option to only use my location when using the app back again. I only use Lyft now because of this.

I dont want to use Apple Pay for my rides! App does not allow me to change even though i have another card loaded...location services on all the time is an app killer for me. Let me know when that changes!

I used Uber quite a lot over the past 3 years... but now theyve run totally off the rails. Their privacy posture is truly nutsoid. And full time GPS drains batteries too. Uber doesnt seem to care. But I am happy to report one AWESOME thing about Ubers downgrade - Uber convinced me to try Lyft and Fasten. Both are excellent, less expensive alternatives to Uber, and without the personal privacy abuses offered by Uber. Thanks Uber, for showing me that there are better fish in the sea. And I am glad my feedback is helping Uber run smoother. Original Review: Since the app and service are tightly coupled, my review is for both. Overall, very good. Generally better than a cab. I have had one problem driver - crazy guy - but likely no less crazy than some cab drivers I have had. App could be easier to use, but it is quite good.

Except for the most odd hours of the day - its always in surge .. it used to be a lot better when they were a smaller company. They had a sincerity of purpose .. Now theyre all about hogging money and prices surges . Its sad what money does to people.

1. Some friends prefer to ride an Uber with a same-gender driver (e.g. young female passenger wanting female driver). Why not implement an option to choose the gender of the driver? 2. There is no space/ field/ etc to communicate by text with the driver about the ride (e.g., instructions about the pickup place).

Why do tips only apply to taxis??! Why is it so complicated to find a way to communicate with customer service?

Its invasive to need it 24/7.
