Spy Tool, Not Cool - Bad Uberrrr

Do You Really Want To Support Evil? Uber is pretty much evil incarnate these days, stalking people, harassing women out of work, even chewing out their own drivers. As far as the creepy stalking, Uber app made a change and now offers only the false dilemma of "ALWAYS" or "NEVER" using your location data. They do this for nefarious purposes, guaranteed. You should use Uber with location services completely disabled! It actually works better this way in fact, because you can just input the exact destination you want to be picked up at instead of having the app always try to guess where you are. Give it a try, disable Location Services for Uber under Settings > Privacy > Location Services > Uber - set to "NEVER" If they give us the "While Using The App" option back Ill stop posting a one star review every time they update the app. Until then, F-Uuuuuber! PS- why on top of everything else shady that they do, do they hate women as well? Befuddled.

Constant updates just to hide bad reviews

Privacy policy is a joke, and the drivers can be downright dangerous.

Overcharges and terrible support!

Uber evolved into a cash trap over the years. Very often, the app miscalculates routes, so that you pay for a distance you wont travel. Also, if the driver misses a turn, the app will charge you more for the extra miles traveled. Recently, Uber began charging cancellation fees even when the driver cancels the ride. You should complain to receive credit on a future ride. If you forget to write, your mistake. Uber tracks our location even when were not using the app and its customer service team uses a passive-aggressive tone carefully adjusted to make people feel bad about contacting support. I deleted the app as soon as a competitor arrived in my city.

Trouble with drivers not showing up and charging

I have had trouble with drivers not showing up, canceling them, then getting charged $6 anyways. I hate that there are no humans to talk to. Dont like the location services . Im switching to lyft

Rude advertisement

An advertisement for this app popped up while I was looking up a word on my Merriam Webster app, it played a full volume despite that my phone was on silent AND do no disturb. I was in a library and the ad was very disruptive to my neighbors and embarrassing for me. Plz dont do that again.

The company is in it for the money not the service

Uber does not pay enough for employees, but hoards a lot of money from employees. The company is making money from sitting and just taking a huge chunk of money from other peoples efforts. Amazon and ebay do the same things but at, they take single digit percentages of other peoples sale and encourage customer satisfaction and growth of small bussiness.

Surge pricing

Im writing this review because I have a problem with the new way you are representing surge pricing. Basically I cant see how much more Im paying. That matters to me. If the surge priced flat-fee fair that is posted is too much for me Im just not going to use the app. But if I see how much more I am paying, like I could in the past, Im more likely to consider taking the ride over another company. The lack of transparency in what you are charging me is also discomforting. You say "no more complicated math". Multiplying 1.5%-5% price increases isnt hard, and its insulting that you think your customers arent intelligent enough to figure it out. What this does look like is you trying to hide extra costs from your customers. Unless things change Ill probably be using lyft for a while, which is consistently half the cost of any uber ride right now.

Horrible App and awful company

Tried to charge me twice for the same ride even though my credit card AND PayPal shows they were paid the first time. The driver took wrong turns, got lost, and took the longest way to my destination to pad his charge. Or he was just incompetent. Im done with Uber!

Requiring location "always" is inexcusable

The app worked perfectly before with "when using the app only" location setting, removing that option is user hostile and actively makes the app worse since "never" is an inferior experience that makes Uber hard to use. Oh well, thats just more money for Lyft I guess.

U dont need my location when Im not using uber

The only options for location services is "Always" and "Never". No, Im not giving you my location when Im not using the app. Guess who gives the option to only have location on "while using" the app? Lyft. Lyft gets my business every time because of this.

You took away the option of sharing location only while using the app. Guess whats easier than having to go into my settings every time to re-enable location and disable location?? ...using Lyft from now on. Put location sharing back to the users choice. ADDITIONALLY, I consider this company to be a bunch of scumbags for releasing a new update every few days to wipe out the negative reviews. There are no real updates to the app. If there were it would be from listening to the rage of their users and giving back the option of location while only using the app. And Ill continue to give 1 star until they do. Update: Uber recently sent an email "noticing" that I disabled location for the App. Well no crap, thats what happens when you dont care about user privacy. Im sure they had to send out a lot of those emails to others. My location will remain disabled until they bring back the option for only when using the app, and my business continues to go to Lyft.

App needs to know the pickup location first

App needs to know the pickup location first. Long time before Uber was my favorite but not anymore. The pickup location always is wrong and the driver getting to you from the map doesnt update. One time the driver was right in front of me but the app still showed 7 minutes away. This kind of wrong updates made me wait for the driver several times with wrong pick up location and when I cancel waiting for the driver I was charged cancellation fee of $5

Pathetic pool rides!

Pathetic horrible pool service since they redesigned the app. Horrible wait times and worst routes. Better alternatives : lyft and via

Dishonest Practices

Uber refused to apply my credits to a ride, even though I had the credit payment method toggled on. Customer support doesnt even read my emails. Instead they continue to send formulaic responses like "we cant change a payment method". they even had the gall to instruct me on how to toggle on the credits, even after I sent screen shots showing the credits payment method toggled on. Totally dishonest.
