Always track my location even when I am not using it. Please change to allow tracking location while being used.

Horrible If I Can Give Zero Stars I Would!! They Charged My Card 2 Time For The Same Ride & Charged Me 5 Dollars For An Uber Driver Canceling The Uber Ride & They Wont Request Me My Refund. I Would Not Recommend This App To Anyone Because They Will Charge Your Account Multiple Times.

First of all, if you haven’t taken a ride yet make sure you use the coupon above to get $20 off your first ride!! Enter it right before you request a ride. Go to the Payment tab in the app and enter the coupon under promotions. Might as well try it out since it wont cost you a thing! The app is simple, easy to use and intuitive by design, giving you important info like the driver’s face, phone number, and car make and model. It’s amazing how quick and seamless the entire process is. A car comes to your door within minutes of pressing a button! The drivers are real people, they are very polite and their cars are clean! Some even come with complimentary water, gum and candy!!! Even if you want to charge your phone, a lot of drivers have phone chargers at your ready!!! UberX is definitely cheaper than your average cab. After all this, I don’t see why you would ever use a yellow cab again. The customer support is also fantastic. I got overcharged on one of my trips and I didn’t have to say anything more than a comment on my driver feedback to get a full refund. I’m very happy and I hope Uber continues to exceed my expectations in not only the app but customer service!! I also prefer Uber much more than other competitors, mainly because they have so much more supply and cars are always just a few minutes away!!!

15Apr2017 update: still no "while using the app" location service option, still not using Uber at all. This has to be one of the most arrogant things Uber has tried to date. As long as they dont allow the option to share location only while in the app I wont be using them. Its Lyft instead.

You can simply let the driver and the customer contact each other through the app. In addition, the pick up data is not clear. Zero star.

Dont waste your time with this invasive app that invades your privacy. It tracks your location 24/7, whether the app is open or not. They do this to gather metadata on you. Uber does not need your location 24 hours a day. They want access to your contacts list. Why? Since when does providing a ride from one place to the next require access to anyones contacts lists? Its ridiculous. Sorry Uber. But no. Until you change your business practices, I will no longer give you a dime of my money and I will not give you anything more than one star.

I have never had so many problems with uber until coming to the UK. Officially deleted the app. Will no longer be using their services.

Need to spread

Unlike a taxi, the drivers rarely know the route and often dangerously fiddle with their gps while driving. Our driver didnt know the route and got back on the highway doubling our time and increasing our fare. The customer service over a fare dispute was unsatisfactory, they were quick to respond but kept repeating the same standardized response.

Arrived at Sao Paulo airport for the first time. Call Uber but couldnt find the driver at the point on the map. There is no way to contact driver like in-app messaging. Then they charged me 7 BRL TWICE. Contact customer service but get the answers just like machines. Never use this app again. I recommend to use Grab.

Heres what the watch app does on my new Apple Watch. Launches Determining location Loading data ERROR cant load data from server try again later. 4 straight days now, the watch app is 0-18 in actually doing anything. No notifications when rides show up either. Its been over 2 months of updates and the watch app still doesnt work. Dumb.

Honestly, it is whatever. I strongly dislike the cancelation fee. It is $5 if you cancel your ride which is pretty stupid. It only bothers me because I feel like it is unnecessary from the customers perspective. It makes me want to switch to lyft because i heard the employees are much more kind and respectful. I understand that you are trying to make money, but really?! The drivers I usually get are great people. MAJORITY of the time. Which is great, but other times you can tell that they only care about the money. If you are an uber driver, you have to at least like the job. And other times, the drivers would repeatedly compliment me to where it gets weird or they get way too personal about certain things until they discover my age.. and then the rest of the ride is completely uncomfortable.

Uber continues the trend of other companies wanting all your data. For what practical reason does Uber need access to your location at all times? Sure, you can toggle it on and off as needed, but I see no reason for Uber to track my location at all times. Ubers app is simply an extension of the corporate culture of harvesting as much user data as it can. Sign up with Lyft instead. Use rider code MIKEHONDA.

Multiple updates, issues remain - REMOVE Always on, location services. Change the location sharing to only when using the app.

So Ive been using Uber for a long time now because its so convenient, but Im so tired of this one dumb feature of the app. Every time I try to use the pin drop feature to show drivers where Im at, they end up in weird locations around me but cant ever find me. Ive tried pinning on nearby streets and that hasnt helped. The way I understand it, the driver doesnt actually see the pins location, they just get directions to the nearest generated address, which of course may be significantly off. But it gives the user the idea that the pick up location is precise, which is false (and leads to avoidable frustration). The pin feature only makes sense when there are no nearby landmarks and when the roads are spread out. There needs to AT LEAST be the OPTION to be able to search for the pick up location via name or address. Sometimes all a driver needs to know is "Marriott" or "Target" and it clears up 99% of any confusion. PLEASE take this into consideration for the next updates.

It is a nice app but I always have pickup address issue. I set my home address but it set a wrong pickup location. One star is lost for this.
