Issue with pick up location

There is always an issue with the pickup location making for bad customer experience - the latest update is a burden and causes a lot of confusion.

Consistently disappointing

The Apps estimation of arrival times is usually 1/3 of the actual pickup time. The drivers are focused on GPS signals rather than a given address which leads to endless headaches. The drivers are also given access to your personal cell phone rather than providing in-app text and voice services. When drivers cancel at last min, users should be credited for what typically amounts to a 15min delay, which would otherwise be considered poor service. Meanwhile if you have to cancel because the driver is incompetent and cant find a well-known address, you have to go through a maze of hoops to get a refund. Additionally, there is no simple way to improve basic functions of a ride, such as picking up on the correct side of the street. You either have to play frogger, or face the drivers wrath in getting a poor rating for making them u-turn. I dont care about all the uproar regarding executive stupidity that is happening these days, but the app and service quality is disappointing.

Suggestion/Enhancement

Updated Review Still an awesome service but like most companies theres no place to add suggestions or enhancements (at least I dont see any on the app or web site), so Ill add mine here. When sending the driver information PLEASE include the color of the car. Yes we need the license number but the color of the car will help us identify the drive from a distance a lot sooner. ---------------------------------------------- The concept and service is AWESOME. The app can use a little bit more tweaking. Im VERY computer literate but the time Ive use UBER or have tried to show new members how to use it I always find it difficult to find where to enter the destination address. Plus changing the car type should be a wheel to select from not that slide bar. Try not to get too fancy there is no need for it since UBER aid a simple concept. Other then that I cant wait to use the service again.

Thieves? (Abusing access to Credit card)

I took a ride in January 2017 and paid in full for the ride. In early April 2017, Über contacted me and informed me they undercharged me for the January ride. So they charged me an additional $5.03, without my consent and several months after the original ride. They may technically, legally be allowed to do this, but it is unprofessional, inappropriate, and an abuse of their access to my account. I contacted them to ask for a refund and received no reply after a week. I canceled my account and am also posting this review so maybe other people can get a better feel for how Über does business. You may think I am over-reacting, but I have plenty of options (train, bus, lyft, taxis, bicycle). I have no reason to do business with Über. Im not going to let them pull something like this again on me, "fool me once...etc."

Why track?

Background tracking drains the battery, dont like that, pls change.

Bring back old Location Services settings

Im using Lyft until you bring back the old location services option that is only on when the app is used.

The app is simple, easy to use and intuitive by design, giving you important info like the driver’s face, phone number, and car make and model. It’s amazing how quick and seamless the entire process is. A car comes to your door within minutes of pressing a button! The drivers are real people, they are very polite and their cars are clean! Some even come with complimentary water, gum and candy!!! Even if you want to charge your phone, a lot of drivers have phone chargers at your ready!!! UberX is definitely cheaper than your average cab. After all this, I don’t see why you would ever use a yellow cab again. The customer support is also fantastic. I got overcharged on one of my trips and I didn’t have to say anything more than a comment on my driver feedback to get a full refund. I’m very happy and I hope Uber continues to exceed my expectations in not only the app but customer service!! I also prefer Uber much more than other competitors, mainly because they have so much more supply and cars are always just a few minutes away!!!

Prices TOO HIGH NOW

Ive been riding with Uber for 3 years and there prices have almost doubled, now to a few blocks its $6-7. The prices have increased so much I dont even know if I want to continue with Uber and there is absolutely no discount or incentive for frequent riders

UBER, stop draining my battery

What happened to allowing location services only when this app is running? How is it a good thing to let UBER drain my phone battery by always having my location? Im switching to Lyft until UBER changes this. 12/30/16 Theyre still doing it. Ill keep checking and updating my review. 2/11/17 Uber is still a stalker. 3/2/17 Uber is still a battery sucking stalker. 3/10/17 Another update, still no change. Updating this review is starting to become an outlet for my disappointment. 3/29/17 Yup. UBER still done nothing to fix this. 4/6/17 UBER is still a 1 star battery sucking stalker app. Im sticking with LYFT 4/14/17 Another wasted UBER update, they still want my battery!

Gave it one more chance

Used been using lyft ever since the #deleteuber movement but decided to give these guys a shot because I needed to split a ride with someone who only had uber. I remember why I stopped using it now. Horrible drivers, horrible interface, horrible service. Lyft from here on out, no matter what.

Never can log on

Every time I try to log on, it says my password is incorrect. I do the "forget password" and it says I dont have an associated email. Then I do the "dont have account" and I change the previous password get on and next time I sign on....same process ALL over again. Its irritating.

There is no reason for you to track my location while Im not using the app

? Update from 2017-04-14: You keep trying to track my location all the time. There is no reason for that.

This update bricked the app.

After requesting a ride It tells me to verify my payment method and goes to a blank screen. My only option is to close the program. I had to take Lyft yesterday because I was unable to use Uber.

Tracking

The location services needs to be fixed. Always having it on is excessive. The option of only when using the app should be available.

Use Lyft.

The only reason people use uber is because its cheaper than Lyft. I cant even begin to express how much I hate Uber. If I could give zero stars I would. Ive only ever had one email and one phone number yet somehow my account got messed up and locked. Had to email them to fix it. Then I couldnt reset my password cause it said wrong email. So I contacted them again. They sent me an email to reset my password that didnt even work. Then they said theyd have to verify my number and a bunch of other bull. Way too difficult. At that point I told them Id just use Lyft. I almost hate Uber as much as I hate the PlayStation Network, and thats saying something. Save yourself. Spend the extra couple bucks. Use Lyft.
