I have been using Uber for quite a few months. Its been great but one day I called a taxi and that guy was not willing to take me to my destination. He wasnt coming anyway so I had to cancel the trip even though he refused to take me in my destination. Otherwise, its a great service.

Location services option needs to go back to switch on only when using app. Theres no reason to "Always" require sharing my location. Lyft doesnt have this problem. Keep updating to clear the bad reviews out everyones just going to keep reposting them. Not sure why apple even allows this.. without actual and proper updates reviews shouldnt be cleared.
If I wont pay attention to what they are charging. There is at least one per 2 weeks incident where they over charge. They counting on the fact that most do not check because they dont care, maybe. Ive been dealing with their customer support and mostly it is bad. They do not refund money and I always compare between the apps - Über Lyft or get taxi. Yet, whomever fare is cheaper I order yet. Über always charge extra more and what is annoying is that they have this auto reply to all issues. Annoying My last incident is that I took Über pool. Thy over charged again. No refund.
Crashes regularly and changes addresses on you then charges cancellation fees. Uber has an F with the better business bureau. Uber treats drivers, customers, and employees like crap. You can find a better alternative.
Until Uber stops using location services ALWAYS instead of "while using app" it gets a 1 star (zero if I could). It tracks you while youre not even using the app. It even tracks you after you delete the app. Creepy!
I will not be using this app anymore. Because I declined letting the app keep tracking my location even while I am not using the app, it is now next to useless. Good thing I still have Lyft installed, because with Uber there is no option in the privacy tab in the phones Settings app for setting the tracking of location "Only While Using", like there is for other apps (Including Lyft).
I have been frustrated with Uber for several months now, but the events of the past week led me to delete the app. I took an uberpool, and my driver got so lost that my original fare changed by $6.36. I told them and they gave me a clearly "copy and paste" response. Then one week later, I see the charge on my credit card account even after deleting the account. They purposely make themselves unreachable so they dont have to take responsibility for their drivers actions. I have reported them to my credit card company and will never be using them again. Keep an eye on your account for unauthorized transactions.

UPDATE 2: As others have pointed out, Uber is likely pushing new updates just to clear out the bad reviews. Theyre hoping people will lose interest after a while and they can get away with their deceptive privacy practices unchecked. UPDATE: It looks like Uber was forced to remove the obvious lie from their app description, but with this version of the app they still can monitor your location at all times--not just when youve used Uber recently. And what about all the people who allowed the app to monitor their location because they believed the lie? The latest "feature" described in this update shows Uber never intended to keep that promise even for a second. Shame on them. Original review: Im an iOS developer and the description about how theyll use your location information is simply not true. With this configuration not only can they monitor your location for up to 5 minutes after you use the app, but also for up to 5 minutes *practically any time they want*, whether youve used the app or not. Additionally, apps that monitor your location all the time are one of the bigger causes of battery drain, even on newer devices. To the developers: Just be honest--youre yet another company who wants to snoop in on where people go and make a few extra bucks selling that information to the highest bidder. Many people will use the app anyway. The really irritating thing is that you easily could have left the original option (to get location info only while the app is being used) so that tech savvy people could change it in Settings. Instead you chose to explicitly remove that option and try to force people to accept something that benefits you at the expense of their batteries. Deleted. If you want my business youll have to bring the option back. Aside from Lyft, there are still plenty of cabs in D.C. and thanks to the competition the cabs are much better than they used to be.
I tried using 3 different credit cards to get a ride and it said something went wrong with each of them. Cant call an uber not. Garbage app.
I dont know whats wrong with the app but it often cannot find any cab and shows errors. The interface is confusing comparing to othe similar services.
Mya husband is a driver for uber. He has complaints himself about you. Like you dont know where u r going until you get to the customer. U should know where u r taking the customer to ahead of time!! He tried to use the services u offer drivers like help on insurance and repairs if u get into a wreck or go into a ditch in winter like my husband did. Thee is suppose to be help with repairs but when called u said no help. U head honchos need to read all the negAtive reviews, and there are many, Id say out of 10 reviews, 9 are bad. How can u head honchos not care whet your customers and drivers are saying?? Im sure its all about money to u guys but remember no customers, no money!!! Dont think that wont happen losing lots of customers because u will. People say enough is enough. Youve broken privacy rules, and all sorts of things Ive read. People leaving uber is real!!! Its happening u no good leaders!!! Also when a driver gets a crown or whatever it is for 500 5star ratings, give them something like free gas or a gift card, something good for their hard work they r doing for your company. I hope this message gets to the right person to get these matters worked out. When customers and drivers are happy with Ubers services, uber grows and grows in a good and positive way. I also hope all uber customers drivers, and all workers for uber read this and keep sending powerful messages to Ubers head honchos! You think its a coincidence that most of thesw reviews end by switching to/promoting lyft? Fat chance. Ive only had good experiences with uber and its saved the lives of countless would-be drunk drivers. Dirty tactics, dirty tactics...
