I have been using uber for almost a year and today I was charged additionally for "making a mess" which I didnt do. I tried to contacts uber etc but they said they wont refund me. I hate this app dont get it! ????

Please bring back the option to only use my location only when using the app.

This is the best application Ive ever seen before

When you search the airport of your city, check the route carefully because possibly the destination is set to the middle of a runway and the route is several miles longer than it should be. As a result, youre paying $4~$6 extra for the distance you wont travel. I reported to Uber several month ago and never heard back. And, do they think people are used to the "Always on" location tracking? No reason for me to allow them to track my location 5 minutes after drop off, and no reason to trust them only doing what the claimed to do. And, people like me still havent forgotten that Uber requested hundreds of Lyft cars then cancelled them and did so again and again. What a mean company. Not that Im still using this app. In fact, I have not used it ever since I found the overcharging trap. Not to mention the location tracking. Im just keeping this app installed so that I can get back and leave a 1-star review whenever it is updated.

App works great but there are too many updates that take up space and data

Why do you need my location? It kills my battery and I dont want you to know where I am always! I use Lyft because of this feature alone!

Uber took away the option to track location only when using the app. Now the only options are either allow Uber to always track your location even when not using the app, or to never allow Uber to track your location in which case the app doesnt work properly. I also dont like how I cant tip drivers from within the app so that it gets charged to my credit card. Fortunately, Lyft allows tracking location only when using the app and allows tipping drivers using their app. So I use Lyft now instead.

Describe the details of what changes in an update

The review is about the app not the drivers . Thats why they have a separate review section for that. As far as the app goes its a great app that is easy to use and I cant wait to see how u guys step your game up in future updates.

At one point Lyft and Uber were comparable but now Uber has become the Low Cost Carrier of ridesharing. Cheaper and rough around the edges. Less appealing to the customer and the driver. Bye bye Uber

The new version of the Uber app has a serious issue where it pretty much wants you to give it detailed access to my exact location ALL the time. All-the-time GPS drains batteries, and I dont want to give Uber the ability to sniff my every move every minute of the day. This is just stupid Uber. I suggest you try some of excellent alternatives. Most of the same exact drivers work for the alternatives too, but without the troubling personal privacy practices offered by Uber. And most alternatives, I have learned, are less expensive. Original Review: Since the app and service are tightly coupled, my review is for both. Overall, very good. Generally better than a cab. I have had one problem driver - crazy guy - but likely no less crazy than some cab drivers I have had. App could be easier to use, but it is quite good.

They charge you if the driver stuck in the traffic and doesnt come for you, and you still waiting

Nope. You still dont need my location once I end my ride. Fail You want your stars back? Gives us back the option of "While Using"

Uber is tracking you all the time and with shady CEO who is abusive to his employees it is a huge issue for me. Lyft is much better

Either lower the app size, or update less. I dont need 256 MB update for typo fixes once a week.

First time using Uber. Cant fault the ease of ordering a ride or the app itself. However, for seemingly no reason at all, Uber decided to cancel my ride while we were still en route to my destination. The trip ended up being much longer than we were expecting due to horrendous traffic, but still, if I pay for a service I dont expect it to just cut out before its complete. Driver to his credit was kind enough to complete the journey and not do what his Uber app told him to do, namely drop me off at the nearest convenient location.

Please stop with this nonsense. Tracking my location even when Im not using the app like really? This is an invasion of privacy! This should be banned from the App Store.

App always says "Request Failed" when I try to request a car, but if I then close the app and restart it it might then show an active trip with a car on the way. Horrible coding and incredibly frustrating to constantly have to restart the app again and again just to see if theres actually a car on the way.
