Invasion of Privacy

Quit selling my big data. Enable geolocation only when the app is open or lose my business...

Forces drivers and customers to go to "pool" pickup points for non-pool rides. Zero star!

I used to be able to drop the pick-up pin where I was actually standing. Made sense, right? Not anymore. Uber now just moves the pin to the nearest "pool" location even if you didnt order "pool" and it makes no sense for the driver and the customer. It is impossible to drop the pin where you are. Why??? We were watching our car pass us by, having to loop around several blocks to go to a "pool" pick-up point half a block up a one-way street. Six extra minutes for the driver and for two of us = 18 minutes wasted just to promote "pool"??? Seriously??? And no, its not a glitch. Its been like this for months now. If it were a glitch, it would have been corrected by now. I must assume its intentional. BAD UBER!

From OK to bad to egregious: invades privacy, ignores user requests

Uber continues its downward spiral and has lost my trust (and that of countless users). The perpetual location tracking in the recent versions is totally unacceptable. Making matters worse, they have *removed* the option to use iOSs native privacy controls to allow location tracking only while using the app. Lyft respects users privacy, unlike Uber. Also, Im no longer able to rate drivers, since after turning off location tracking theres a nag screen every time one opens or returns to the app, and that nag screen blocks the page where typically one would rate the driver right after a trip (dismissing the nag screen also dismissed the rating screen, which is a major design flaw). Uber has officially gone from hit-and-miss to terrible. And, on top of that, now Uber wants access to your contacts as well as your location. Pass.

Location tracking always on?!

Until Uber gives me option to track my location while only app is in use my rating is 2. Also wish app didnt take up so much space

We update the app as often as possible to remove all of the negative reviews of our app and fool more people into getting our app and using uber. Check back next week to see the latest way that we exploit our drivers, incentivizing them to work long hours without developing any new skills or educating themselves, all the while using the profits we make off of our drivers hard work to steal self driving car secrets from google so that we can deploy a fleet of self driving cars in 10 years (or less) thereby rendering our drivers, who have spent 10 years driving for us, totally redundant to the workforce and thus unemployed. Oh, also we track your location when not using the app! Enjoy!

Great for mobility impaired

... That FRESH car smell ... Knowing when you will be picked up ... App needs to indicate when info is not quite real time. DO NOT like that Uber insists of knowing where I am after ride is over

The app works fairly well, although the GPS has some serious issues sometimes. But the app doesnt allow you to tip through it & who carries cash any more? It needs to let you tip for both the drivers & the passengers.

Give me back my money!!!

I used Uber to get to school everyday, and its usually 8-9$. Today, they charged me 15$, but they driver called me and said they cant get there, so I have to cancel and call another one. After I cancel, it charged me twice as much. I paid 33$ for a short ride today. Another issue is in my bank, it shows that Uber charged both the ride and the one that I canceled. Please fix it and give me back my money!!!!

Great for a good while, but updates have problems

Uber was truly great for a long while, but recently (after May 2017) some problems began to occur in updates. For roughly two weeks the app cannot get any Uber driver even if there is a driver around. I tested on a one car and nothing pops up on the drivers app screen, while my wifes phone, who hasnt updated Uber yet, worked great. Im not sure if the Uber management is constantly pushing their software engineers to make new updates every now and then, but as the saying goes, if it aint. Role, dont fix it.

Customer service is awful

I know uber is pretty big now and their customer service turned into pretty poor. They hire unprofessional drivers and dont care what happen to passengers. I had a horrible experience with uber last week, the driver took wrong freeway and ended up wasting 40 more minutes than original estimate time, moreover, the driver kept telling me the excuse that he is new to this city and not used to driving around here... When I claimed this issue to uber, they just emailed me back and force with same template messages and I gave it up because I felt like dealing with only the computer... Now I use Lyft. Their customer service is still way better.

Never take a cab again

Uber rocks! If Uber is available in a city, I will never take a can. Uber is faster to respond, nicer drivers, and cleaner cars.

Fraud Charges

My bank account was charged over $300. I live in a bush camp with no cell service and definitely no Uber access. So why was I charged this money?? Ive had to post on the Facebook Uber page and nobody has replied, and I have no way of getting ahold of your company. Why do you have no contact number?? Ridiculous.
