...until I actually request a ride. Then suddenly its 10 minutes. Then 4 minutes later its 15 minutes. Seems like bait and switch marketing BS this company is known for. Also, this company is run by sexist jerks so theres that.
Charged a $5 cancellation fee while outside waiting for our Uber then for the next ride was $6 more expensive and we had to wait another 15 minutes. Plus they need your location ALL the time which is absolutely not needed.
Stop accessing my location all the time. Easy as that.
So after using this for 5 weeks it wants to verification of credit card via photo. Too bad it never takes the pick and Im still at work with no way home. I mess with it. Re install. This makes me so mad. I used it this morning now cuz the app doesnt work Ive screwed. Fix this. Its been weeks. It will go on for a hour then it will just let it happen. Today nothing will work. Still cant get it to take a pic of the same card that been used for months.
Extremely horrible auto-locating, always pins start point to the wrong place which makes it so hard for the driver and rider to find each other. Every time I call an uber-pool, it will always ask me to wait on the wrong side of the intersection.
It used to be a great app/service, now they push app updates so often it is ridiculous. Get it together and stop wasting my time and bandwidth. More than once a quarter is too often to update an app and Uber likes to do more than once a month? I read other reviews that stated they do frequent updates to wipe out negative reviews - thats not only bad business its unfair to folks looking for honest info on the current app. I think its time to switch ride sharing companies to one with a better reputation that actually cares about its customers. Also - I Read the other reviews for this latest version and verified that you can no longer select "location tracking only while using the app" - its either on or off and that is not only lame, it also shows a lack of concern for user privacy. Uber has good name recognition but is losing customers quicker than it pushes out updates. Buh-bye!
Location tracking is always or never...with never the app is junk. Come on Uber, lets not be creepy invasive with your users privacy. Solution: Lyft.
Cheapos. As a developer, I would have hung my head in shame if I ever invaded users privacy like this. There is an old Indian saying that if you add more salt in you food, youll get some self respect and dignity. May be people at uber can try that.

Go to the Payment tab in the app and enter the coupon under promotions. Might as well try it out since it wont cost you a thing! The app is simple, easy to use and intuitive by design, giving you important info like the driver’s face, phone number, and car make and model. It’s amazing how quick and seamless the entire process is. A car comes to your door within minutes of pressing a button! The drivers are real people, they are very polite and their cars are clean! Some even come with complimentary water, gum and candy!!! Even if you want to charge your phone, a lot of drivers have phone chargers at your ready!!! UberX is definitely cheaper than your average cab. After all this, I don’t see why you would ever use a yellow cab again. The customer support is also fantastic. I got overcharged on one of my trips and I didn’t have to say anything more than a comment on my driver feedback to get a full refund. I’m very happy and I hope Uber continues to exceed my expectations in not only the app but customer service!! I also prefer Uber much more than other competitors, mainly because they have so much more supply and cars are always just a few minutes away!
While the tracking option is frustrating as anything, my biggest concern and gripe with the app is the new recommended pickup location. Not only is there no choice to disable this feature, it does not go away even if you try to correct it . In my case the driver is always redirected to the other side of my road or even to addresses that dont exist. It is extremely angering to try and put the correct address, just to see it change back and say its recommended. So please Uber, put the option "While Using" back, and let us put our addresses correctly when your app doesnt know or mistakes the addresses.
I hope Uber becomes the biggest failure in the history of Silicon Valley. It will be rightfully deserved.
Uber is reliable and getting better. I depend on Uber to get around in the city most days. People hate on Uber now because its the most popular ride sharing company, but we have to remember what the world was like before Uber. Our cities do not have sophisticated enough transportation infrastructure to support population growth - unreliable bus routes, crowded BART trains, etc. And the yellow taxi industry was terrible. The taxi industry was terrible to taxi drivers and terrible for customers. It was not even something I ever considered because it was so expensive. I think Uber is making positively impacting our cities and how people get around. Because I can depend on Uber to get around affordable, I dont need to own a car. Thats a plus for me and the environment. Competitor apps have really long ETAs and are not as reliable, so I just use Uber.
Uber you have made yourself annoying instead of helpful. The value of improvements to this update versus the number of updates is not equal! So, its not worth it! Really? I need to update this every week? Its an app for chrissake! Ill delete it and upload the newest version next time I feel the need to Uber. Far too many updates. Poor planning Uber folk.

Uber is the worst company to deal with. The customer service team is like speaking with robots and theyre based in the Philippines. Even when you e-mail them they do not resolve your issue. Awful all around!
I mean I had always tried to approach this app with the lowest expectations possible but this app and the service has never seen such a sharp decline. So this is good bye. Ill go back to taking yellow cabs. At least they take me where Im going. Lost a customer who used to consistently use Uber 10 times a month. Pathethic.
