If you thought Google is evil, Uber is worst. They should be ashamed of themselves with the way they operate. Update: Stop tracking us!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Uber should be banned by Apple for doing so, Apple shouldnt even allow having "no option" to just allow when using. All apps should require this. Uber is taking full advantage of it!!!! It draining my battery, and its evil on their part. They are acting like its really speeding up some data when its on when doing the same thing after turning it on and off. I really believe they just want to use that data for other reasons. Sometimes I forget to turn location off and its Fing annoying!!!! I shouldnt need to go to my settings every time Im done using it. Update 2: This guy who wrote review saying "tips create war between drivers and riders..." have no idea whats he talking about or understand how Uber Driver app works. No they dont wait until you tip or not. Unlike this app, drivers need to rate quickly in order to get another request and keep working. Stop making up fake stories. With Taxis, you can also tip. SMH!

Your elders drivers (the ones that are retired) are absolutely trash. They drive slow as hell, get lost easily, dont know how to work a simple smartphone. Im ALWAYS LATE no matter where I go whenever you pair me with someone at least 50 years of age or older. Your company is trash and so are your drivers

I have use uber in many different cities but will never use them again. I had one driver get in a wreck and he just takes off doesnt stop to see if the car was ok or people yells at guy then runs with me in the car and then wanted money from me. That was just one time for charged for a driver that never showed up and was not Close to me at all said I was a no-show and then they charge me the was a mile away per the app the time said 6 minutes away tried to get my money back but no luck had the use the bank to get it back Im done with you guys

Dont get involved with this uber app, stay away.

The app is user friendly and the rides are convenient and affordable. I prefer using UBER over LYFT. The only con is tipping because figuring out the tip amount is not fun. Just pay the drivers a little more and remove the tip feature.

There is still no way to only enable location sharing only when using the app. Having location sharing on all the time is a deal breaker for me. Uber: Re enable the option to only share when using the app.

Excellent service with a great app. The Uber Team is always finding new ways to please the consumer. Quality drivers. Will never use another ride app.

Uber continues its downward spiral and has lost my trust (and that of countless users). The perpetual location tracking in the recent versions is totally unacceptable. Making matters worse, they have *removed* the option to use iOSs native privacy controls to allow location tracking only while using the app. Lyft respects users privacy, unlike Uber. Also, Im no longer able to rate drivers, since after turning off location tracking theres a nag screen every time one opens or returns to the app, and that nag screen blocks the page where typically one would rate the driver right after a trip (dismissing the nag screen also dismissed the rating screen, which is a major design flaw). Uber has officially gone from hit-and-miss to terrible. And, on top of that, now Uber wants access to your contacts as well as your location. Pass.

I have enough credit and money to get from there and back but when I try to request it will give me errors over and over PLEASE FIXXX THISS!!!

Awful , it logged me off several Times when picking up the rider , Uber do you want me to log in when driving on Hwy?

Sadly, this new version of the Uber app has a serious issue where it pretty much wants you to give it rights to your exact location ALL the time - not only when youre taking a ride, but also while you sleep, while youre at work, while youre driving your own car - literally ALWAYS. All-the-time GPS drains batteries, and I dont want to give Uber the right to sniff my every move every minute of the day. This is just stupid of Uber. I suggest you try some of excellent alternatives that dont abuse personal information. Most of the same exact drivers work for the alternatives too, but without the troubling personal privacy practices offered by Uber. And most alternatives, I have learned, are less expensive. We all win! Original Review: Since the app and service are tightly coupled, my review is for both. Overall, very good. Generally better than a cab. I have had one problem driver - crazy guy - but likely no less crazy than some cab drivers I have had. App could be easier to use, but it is quite good.

They do not honor your gift cards. I have over a $100 in gift cards on my account. Yet, they insist on charging my credit card. Forget even trying to get customer service

This app is not trustworthy, it constantly matches me up with drivers thats either 20 mins away or someone that refuse to pick me up. Lyft is way more reliable.

I hate that location services need to be on all the time. Why not just when using the app? Drains my battery and dont like uber tracking my every movement.

I will not be using this app anymore. Because I declined letting the app keep tracking my location even while I am not using the app, it is now next to useless. Good thing I still have Lyft installed, because with Uber there is not an option in the privacy tab in the phones Settings app for setting the tracking of location "Only While Using", like there is for other apps (Including Lyft).

Updating the app every week to clean bad reviews. Im going to update my review and rate one star every single time!!!

So Ive been using Uber for a while, been over a year now. And Ive sworn by the service but the most recent experience that I have is convinced me to switching to using Lyft exclusively in Uber no longer. My Uber driver canceled the drive just as I was walking out to the vehicle and then he told me that I could we do it again to see if you could pick me up but at this point in time it now I jumped up to high surge pricing the fair was initially only going to be $14 and then it was up to $40 at this point. Also cant update profile picture.

Took a ride that cost $17.38. Ended up getting two additional charges for $24.15 & $150.00!! Currently disputing the charges with Wells Fargo. I will never use them again!
