Worst customer service Ive ever seen

There is nothing really wrong with the app, I just had a particularly bad experience with a driver who tried to get me to cancel and collect the cancellation fee by driving in circles around me for 25 minutes and when I tried to contact customer support they continued to send me canned responses that had nothing to do with the actual situation. After a continual back and forth with them over multiple days, they ended up crediting my account $5 for the inconvenience it caused. Absolutely worthless. I could careless about the credit, I want to see that they are actually trying to solve the problem that drivers are taking advantage of the system and not picking up riders in hopes that they will cancel and that they can collect the cancellation fee. I highly doubt this will ever be addressed because after this situation, I am thoroughly convinced that Uber couldnt care less about their customers.

Big Brother Tracking

The app now requires that they be able to track your location 24/7. I am NOT ok with this, regardless of how benevolent their intentions are. Theres absolutely no business case for them to be able to watch your every move.

The app is simple, easy to use and intuitive by design, giving you important info like the driver’s face, phone number, and car make and model. It’s amazing how quick and seamless the entire process is. A car comes to your door within minutes of pressing a button! The drivers are real people, they are very polite and their cars are clean! Some even come with complimentary water, gum and candy!!! Even if you want to charge your phone, a lot of drivers have phone chargers at your ready!!! UberX is definitely cheaper than your average cab. After all this, I don’t see why you would ever use a yellow cab again. The customer support is also fantastic. I got overcharged on one of my trips and I didn’t have to say anything more than a comment on my driver feedback to get a full refund. I’m very happy and I hope Uber continues to exceed my expectations in not only the app but customer service!! I also prefer Uber much more than other competitors, mainly because they have so much more supply and cars are always just a few minutes away!

Uber pays about $3 hr, so tip the drives at least &5.

Horrible app

The app is like a giant wall of ads. Its slow to start up, slow to load information, slow to use, slow, slow, slow. Really bad design. I love the Uber service, but their app is just horrible.

Timing

I wish it would tell me how far away the Uber is instead of estimating how long it will take to get to the location. The estimates are never right, and I either show up to work super early or super late. If I knew how far away an Uber was I could calculate when I needed to order one better.

False promises

I have received an email about Uber ice cream and have opened the app and have seen nothing about it. The link in the email just goes to the Uber home page in the app. What is the need to fool people with false statements.

Goodbye, Uber

I signed up with Uber just three days ago. It worked just fine for two trips on August 9th. And it worked fine for one trip on August 10th. This was a trip I had arranged for a friend of mine to get her to her doctor appointment. When she called me after her appointment so I could arrange for her trip back, I got the message "Request Failed. Your payment method is invalid. Please update your billing settings." Nothing had changed in my billing settings. The first call was to my bank to see if the Uber charges had tripped some security action. They hadnt. Nor had any charges been declined. The bank told me this was typically a sign of a merchant error. So I try Uber Help. I received a response that said one of the following issues is preventing the fare charges from going through: -Incorrect billing information (likely zip code or expiration date) -insufficient funds -Your card may not be set up to approve recurring transactions and/or international transactions (this will require a call to your card-issuer to resolve) I contacted my bank again and was again assured there were no problems on my end. I had several back and forths with Uber, each time a different person parroting the same things over and over and telling me to use a different payment method. There was no need for me to do so as the problem was not on my end. This same card works just fine with a variety of services and every other transaction I use it for. When it became clear that Uber had no interest whatsoever in figuring out what the problem on their end was kept insisting that I use some other payment method, I deleted my Uber account and have since signed up with Lyft.

Losing its Edge and Transparency

Uber no longer notifies you of a "surcharge". As a customer, I like to know when there is a surcharge and how much more I will be paying for the surcharge. Uber is Definitely losing transparency. So many changes recently, new App and service is definitely going downhill. Cars and drivers are not as nice as they use to be. Many App issues.. Exact location is far from accurate. So many times pin points blocks away from where you are so beware. 5 year Uber, please do not break this great simple service.

Dont! Just Dont!

Uber was great when they first arrived on the scene. I can deal with drivers who dont speak English, and other stuff that annoys most, BUT I do not do 25 minutes in the hot Phoenix sun, when it says 10 minutes, or a driver who cancels after he says hes been waiting more than 5 minutes, when it says 3 minutes until he arrives. Im done with Uber, and Ive got a lot of Uber credit. Do yourself a favor, and use Lyft. Their drivers are friendly, and Ive never had an issue. I use taxis about twice a month. I own a car, but when you have had a few drinks, its all about safety, quick pick up, and convenience. Uber is none of those. I strayed from Lyft, because I have $20 in Uber credit from Capital One. Guess what? It means nothing to me. Lyft it is!

Drivers need better screening. You cant just kick someone out of your car because you assume they are racist. All white people must be racist, right? Shameful!

Its okay. The app is okay. The drivers dont seem as friendly as the ones on Lyft. It, Ill continue to try them both to see which one is better.

Company crosses the line in tracking you even when not using the app. Obnoxious experience without location, and uber disabled the most rational choice: "when using" (obviously should be the default). Lost 600 million leasing cars trying to create a servant workforce

Location services

Location services option needs to go back to switch on only when using app. Theres no reason to "Always" require sharing my location. Lyft doesnt have this problem. Keep updating to clear the bad reviews out everyones just going to keep reposting them. Not sure why apple even allows this.. without actual and proper updates reviews shouldnt be cleared.

Uber is awesome.

My life wouldnt be doable without them.
