They stopped Flat rate rides. Plus once you have then, they are not refundable just in case something goes wrong with the rides.

#DELETE Uber. Get the Lyft app its so easy to use they dont invade privacy they ask permission for everything they want to access and you get the real price your going to pay. Theres no surcharge or any of that and if theres a problem you email them and they get back to you right away. The drivers and cars are always super clean.
They get me from point A to B without a problem.
I use Uber in NYC, and so far its been pretty atrocious. In fact, the absolute only reason why I still use it is because I live in a more remote part of the city where yellow cabs are harder to come by. The customer service is lousy. They charge you cancellation fees out the wazoo, even when it was the drivers fault, and when you give them an explanation as to why you should get a refund, theyre very picky about when theyre willing to refund you. What garbage. I dont like the customer service, but the drivers are even worse. 9 times out of 10 they get lost trying to find my apartment- and next thing you know, my ETA has gone from 3 minutes to 10 minutes! Since I tend to only take Uber when Im in a major hurry, I often have to cancel if the the ETA jumps like that. But then I get charged fees and get low ratings from drivers, even though it was *them* who got lost while I was waiting at the correct address the whole time! Really!? The drivers also have a habit of either taking long routes, or simply not knowing where theyre going whatsoever. Uber needs to have much stricter hiring criteria and regulations, because Im so tired of having to deal with directionally challenged drivers all the time.
First of all, if you haven’t taken a ride yet make sure you use the coupon above to get $20 off your first ride!! Enter it right before you request a ride. Go to the Payment tab in the app and enter the coupon under promotions. Might as well try it out since it wont cost you a thing! The app is simple, easy to use and intuitive by design, giving you important info like the driver’s face, phone number, and car make and model. It’s amazing how quick and seamless the entire process is. A car comes to your door within minutes of pressing a button! The drivers are real people, they are very polite and their cars are clean! Some even come with complimentary water, gum and candy!!! Even if you want to charge your phone, a lot of drivers have phone chargers at your ready!!! UberX is definitely cheaper than your average cab. After all this, I don’t see why you would ever use a yellow cab again. The customer support is also fantastic. I got overcharged on one of my trips and I didn’t have to say anything more than a comment on my driver feedback to get a full refund. I’m very happy and I hope Uber continues to exceed my expectations in not only the app but customer service!! I also prefer Uber much more than other competitors, mainly because they have so much more supply and cars are always just a few minutes away!!!
Everything easy and super quick
*nice try with blank updates just to clear your horrible reviews* 1. Constantly tracking my location = thats creepy and illegal. Funny, theyve disabled our choice to change that. 2. Every driver (former cab driver) is now wasting your time to find other people to carpool with on YOUR DIME. 3. Way more expensive than when it started.
Why do you need to access my location all the time? This is an invasion of privacy. And stop updating every 3 days we all know youre just trying to get rid of the bad reviews.
Hi, Last app version requires to login every time I open it. And every time loses my password so I have to reset it
Since whoever designed this app decided not to include any option for feedback on problems with the software, rather than just blaming the driver for taking a poor route, I am leaving this one star review in public, in the App Store. The GPS is terrible. The ability to predict how long it will be till you get picked up is terrible. The estimates are highly unrealistic. And it changes the route and estimated time drastically in the space of minutes. Ubers in-app GPS in Boston is abysmal. For the third time, it has taken a simple, 1/2 mile trip and turned it into a 30 minute odyssey involving highways in rush hour traffic, unnecessary detours across city lines, and no way to alert the company of their screw-up without somehow blaming the driver. According to the driver, his pay will get dinged if he deviates from their insane directions, so he generally just follows them. Since I dont want him to go unpaid for 30 minutes of work, I am stuck with the bill and a seriously negative impression of Uber as a tech company and as an employer. Fix this, Uber.
Uber now wants you to turn on location services 24/7 and they have eliminated the option to only use location services while using the app only. Forget that mess! This company is going downhill fast!
I will not be using this app anymore. Because I declined letting it keep tracking my location even while I am not using the app, it is now next to useless. Good thing I still have Lyft installed, because with Uber there is not even an option in the privacy tab on the phones settings for tracking location "Only while using", like there is for other apps (Including Lyft).
Dont normally write reviews but I feel I must to save people from having their money stolen. A problem that is consistent and happening to a lot of people I know. Being charged twice, three times, and then having to wait weeks for money back after taking out almost $40 out of my account. Insanity, theft, dont use Uber.
Would be great if you could make the determination if youd prefer a car that uses a "smoke-free" car. Nothing worse than getting in a car and realizing how bad it reeks of smoke. For lengthy rides it ends up smelling your own clothes up. Would love to see that option.
Youre always updating the app and making changes to the how the app functions yet Im never advised of the changes. Instead, Im left to figure out what you changed each time I open the app to try and use it. I can usually figure it out quite fast but it seems you and many other app companys seem to think posting "weekly update...." in the update section is enough. Id actually like to know what you did to the app that was different than the way it was before. Rather than being left to figure it out myself.
Im so done with uber , this is their second time stealing my money and never refunding it back. My biggest mistake was riding with uber!!!
When you search the airport of your city, check the route carefully because possibly the destination is set to the middle of a runway and the route is several miles longer than it should be. As a result, youre paying $4~$6 extra for the distance you wont travel. I reported to Uber several month ago and never heard back. And, do they think people are used to the "Always on" location tracking? No reason for me to allow them to track my location 5 minutes after drop off, and no reason to trust them only doing what the claimed to do. And, people like me still havent forgotten that Uber requested hundreds of Lyft cars then cancelled them and did so again and again. What a mean company. Not that Im still using this app. In fact, I have not used it ever since I found the overcharging trap. Not to mention the location tracking. Im just keeping this app installed so that I can get back and leave a 1-star review whenever it is updated.
I stopped using Waze for the same reason and Im not going to share my location all the time with Uber either.
Theres no option to remove credit card information from the app when you just want cash as your payment method because Uber automatically charges cancellation to your card even if its invalid.
Uber please fix this immediately. It is not acceptable to continually track users. You only need to use our location when we use the app. I refused to use the service until this is fixed. Now you want access to my calendar. No.
