Using a coupon was a hassle and the driver was awful

I thought I was being pranked... the driver must have gone through the checklist of "what not to do" and made sure he made them all. I only used Uber because I had a $15 coupon.... that didnt work at the end ?? Deleted immediately after. Im staying with Lyft.

I wait, Driver cancels, I get fined if I now cancel

Why do I have to pay to cancel a ride after the driver decides not to pick me up after several minutes of me waiting to be picked up? Im automatically assigned a new driver and I cant even change my ride from Uberpool to Uberx unless I pay $2 to cancel the current ride!

Awful app and website drivers awfully

Theyve got to get organized or another company will take advantage of this quick and grave decline in customer satisfaction that is growing wide spread across the Uber corporation. They arent even going to pretend to have a customer first policy - Rude, sloppiness, & cheating customers, to make money is all they care about. When forcing the sudden expansion of Uber across all US cities (along with food and cargo delivery) this seems to have lowered the standard of who they hire or what they expect from the drivers or what their competency level should be. Now anyone who has obtained a car and who had a pulse can get paid to tote folks around.

First of all, if you haven’t taken a ride yet make sure you use the coupon "cvle9" to get $20 off your first ride! Enter it right before you request a ride. Go to the Payment tab in the app and enter the coupon under promotions. Might as well try it out since it wont cost you a thing! The app is simple, easy to use and intuitive by design, giving you important info like the driver’s face, phone number, and car make and model. It’s amazing how quick and seamless the entire process is. A car comes to your door within minutes of pressing a button! The drivers are real people, they are very polite and their cars are clean! Some even come with complimentary water, gum and candy!!! Even if you want to charge your phone, a lot of drivers have phone chargers at your ready!!! UberX is definitely cheaper than your average cab. After all this, I don’t see why you would ever use a yellow cab again. The customer support is also fantastic. I got overcharged on one of my trips and I didn’t have to say anything more than a comment on my driver feedback to get a full refund. I’m very happy and I hope Uber continues to exceed my expectations in not only the app but customer service!! I also prefer Uber much more than other competitors, mainly because they have so much more supply and cars are always just a few minutes away!!!

Horrible app and customer service

This new app is horrible it lets the drivers rate me which doesnt make a whole lot of sense since I am the customer and this is in fact their job. Customer service has no phone number I have to go back and forth with them through text which doesnt make getting my point across very easy. Horrible will use Lyft from now on!

Uber not available in my area?

I live in the freakin city with millions of people how is Uber "not available" in my area?

Generally okay

The app generally works pretty well. I do wish it displayed information on surge pricing more prominently and with more detail. Also, it would be helpful if there were a setting where I could specify a cut-off for how long I can wait for a car so that Im not assigned one that I consider too far away for my needs. It would save both me and the driver the hassle of cancelling and rebooking someone else.

Dont Uber

F*** this app. Canceled a ride and they charged me $5, and getting a hold of someone is a pain Seriously never leave reviews and this pisses me off.

Great app...BUT!

I agree with many of the users that a solution needs to be found so that we can choose to have location services on only "while using the app"... Maybe the app can be forced to stay on even in background after a ride request has been made and can only be turned off once the trip is completed or the request cancelled by client. In other words a pop up screen if someone tries to turn it off in the background while on a call that this will cause a cancellation of the uber and can result in a charge. Other apps do something similar. Something needs to be done about this because its not okay the way it is.

How is Uber Just 2 Stars?

Are we being unnecessarily critical? Uber is fantastic. Im reminded of that every time I take a cab. Ive NEVER had a bad driver. The app is easy to use. Its so affordable. And Im not a rookie. Ive been using it for years. I remember a world WITHOUT Uber. And it was not as good a world. Is every ride perfect? No. But lets not be so hyper critical. Uber is fantastic.

No Credibility

Happen to have a coupon book with an new user Uber promo code. Says $20 but in the fine print says valid for first 3 trips not to exceed $8 each and I am responsible after. After the first trip I contacted and received an affirmation from their Twitter support that the promo would apply to the next two. Didnt happen. Their customer service is a disappointment and regardless of the proof of the coupon as well as their rep endorsing they will not honor their promotion. It looks like disputing through the credit card company is my only option. Also their waiting charge is a joke. I got charged on two trips even though I was out and waiting on them at the designated meeting spot. I even was chatting with a driver about it and we laughed and I got charged on that trip. The irony. Guess it wont matter since I do not feel the need to use again. And I was wondering why their App Store rating was so low...

I kept forgetting to disable location services

I kept forgetting to disable location services after using the app. So i deleted it from my phone and now use competing services that dont insist on tracking my location at all times.

Disappointed no more requesting ride in advance

Im very disappointed that you took away ability to request rides for future time. That was a good feature. You app says its still available but the feature is gone. There is no option to schedule a futi ride anymore.

The worst customer service, ever!

Horrible driver/ costumer service

On 6/17 I ordered an Uber to pick me up. He arrived a block away. I tried to call him and tell him that he was too far up and that he needs to back up. He didnt speak English, so the Uber app continued to charge me even though the guy was at the wrong pick up spot. I contact Uber to tell them that the guy was at the wrong pick up spot and that I shouldnt have been charged a wait fee. The contacted me back only to tell me what the waiting fee was and that next time be outside. The guy never came all the way down the street, and he didnt speak English to give correct directions to. So it wasnt my fault I shouldnt have been charged and you should have better navigation.
